Job export meshes up printready server!!!

I was exporting jobs to zip files from cockpit-installed in a precision 390-,and exposing plates at the same time. Cockpit crashed and i forced quit it-shut it down with task manager. Start it up again, wouldn't login! Shut everything down, waited a bit then started restarting, the server first...

    Suprasetter 105 "new user" questions

We are getting one too, till the end of the month it will be installed. Mike Herndon said Could you-or anyone be more specific on this? I can't really think a way to cause problems, with the prosetter at least the worst you could do was to neglect spraying the drum with teflon every once in a...

    I have seen the future....

I'm not familiar with VDP. I thought the layout is done in InDesign, and the data is provided by the customer, then back to indie for data merge. (Come to think of it,indie might needed a little more time to export a 77.000 pages pdf...) But i still don't understand what level of expertise in...

    Prinect vs Apogee

Steve thanks for your quick answer! First time i hear of the module, sounds very interesting! Is it a standard feature that comes with apogee? Can you edit the imposition afterwards? For instance maybe two pages/blocks must overlap, will it let you change the positions it created? One more...

    Prinect vs Apogee

Hi all! There is a strong possibility that my shop might migrade from Prinect to Apogee. If there is someone who's tried both,i'd be very glad hearing his/hers opinion. The first thing i'm considering is the preps-signa issue. I have little experience with preps, and to be honest the latest...

    dieline export from Quark

Don't know if i'm missing something here, but you can open the pdf in illustrator select the die line, lock it,and then delete everything. Save a new pdf and send it to the die maker and keep the original for print!

    Color Consistency

Why shouldn't,they come default with ps aren't they? :D One way to avoid this would be putting some pressure to the torrent uploaders to preconfigure ps color settings before uploading the file, and maybe give a little description like: cs2 for sheetfeed,cs4 for old web,cs5 for...etc :p

    New pc.

Thanks everybody for the replies! The tech told me that components might not well match, while HP/Dell machines work out of the box. So on the same budget you get something like gig0's-which would be my choise- or an entry level ''workstation'' from Dell with much lower specs-on paper at...

    New pc.

Hi all! I'm looking for a new pc. Will run CS5 and lightroom,no 3d or movie rendering. I was thinking of configuring something myself but i was told that it's better to go for a HP or dell machine. My budget is up to the first 7 machines of this page, but i wouldn't mind going for something...

    Looking for ctp!

Well, thanks again for your help. I'll have a look on Agfa,as a matter of fact i think of looking whatever i can get my hands on. Truth is that in the 2.5 years i'm here i've never experienced problems with the prosseter laser. Instead we have problems with it's grip, sometimes i even have to...

    Looking for ctp!

You're right there Bill, cheaper is not always the best way-IMO most of the times is the worst-. Still i didn't get any answer on violet vs thermal thing! ps I went to Screen's site and couldn't find a reseller in Greece!

    Looking for ctp!

Thanks for the reply Gary! I'd really like to hear from someone who has worked with both technologies-violet and thermal- and has a field view and opinion on the matter. Last year we were talking on changing just the plates and i was told-here- that chem free violet plates are a lot less...
