    UV Coating & Lamination

The only reason that we have done it is when a customer first requested UV and then on delivery of the job decided that maybe they wanted Lamination instead. Gotta love em.

    UV Coating & Lamination

We have had to laminate on top of UV coating several times. After much experimenting, we used our hot lamination, turned up temperature, approx. 350-375, and it seems to stick alright. But, my preference is not to do it. Either lamination or UV but not both. Haven't tried it with our cold...

    Epson 7900CTP

I can appreciate you not listing customers on an open forum. But, that's not what I asked. As a distributor of VIM, I am assuming that your company has many customers that use the product, and I would hope that there would be at least one that uses over a 20" plate that would be willing to...

    anyone Ever Run magnecote

We run magnacote thru our QMDI and our ryobi's all the time. Watch your pressure and it should run fine. We generally run 12x18 sheets. Listen closely as you are running it. Once in awhile one might miss a gripper and stick to the back cylinder. We very rarely have that happen but when it...

    Xante Ilumina Digital Envelope Press

Just buy a Oki 9650, a Straight Shooter feeder and your set for under $10,000 and the consumables can be purchased very reasonable as compared to all these other digital envelope suppliers that utilize the same engine and charge a fortune for them and their consumables. Use the Oki til it...

Please help! Wide format printer advise needed.

We are currently in the same situation. Looking at 2 different inks. Either UV or Solvent. What are the pros and cons of each? We will mainly be using this machine to produce outside signs, vinyl labels, etc., as we already have a Canon 6400 Prograf and and Epson 7900 for indoor use.

Numbered Forms Printing On 2 Part NCR from 2 Supply Trays on Xerox

I dont know how much numbering you do, but, if you do alot, you can pickup a Rollem or one of many numbering devices on the market for a song in this economy. It's worth it. It takes us about 5- 8 minutes or less to number 1000 forms with our Graphic Whizard unit. Good Luck.

Anyone besides me using VIM DTP?

Just curious if anyone is using VIM's DTP system and what kind of success your having. How are your plates holding out on long runs, say 5000 or more? Toning etc... Just would like to compare notes on what you think so far.

    Canon W6400 Prograf Problem

We have had this printer for about 2 years and it has worked great. Last week we went to print a poster and the ink is wet on the paper, blochy, not even close on color. Did cleanings, called Canon(what a waste of time) still same results. Was working fine with roll media, but when we tried...

Xerox 700 color shifting durring the run.

Just demo'd a 700 today. We ran a book job, 3000 copies, 20 pages, 80# gloss text, each page had a green bar approx. 1" tall across the top of the sheet. Happy to report that the last copy looked like the first. I was very impressed other than when you put it in duplex mode it is very...

Help spend someone else's money on a new workstation

I agree with all that's been said but would like to also add one point. You may already be aware of it but our experience has been that whenever we upgrade our computer, we also end up with a few rips that will not communicate with it. Old software, etc... Just be aware, especially in a small...
