    Xerox C60 Printer

I ran a Docucolor 252 for 5 years, the predecessor to the C60, and it did fine. As long as you keep the +/- 1.2mm in mind when you create files and make sure your paper is nice and square, it'll serve you well. When you do get demanding jobs- tight borders and images across folded panels - send...

Survey Says Quality = Well FInished

Along those lines, an old printer once told me, if you put a ten dollar job into a nice box all shrinkwrapped, it'll look like a thousand dollar job. Put a thousand dollar job into a used paper box and it will look like a ten dollar job.

Pause Option in Fiery Command Workstation on Fiery FS100 for Xerox J75

Just let it run out of paper. Reload in the morning. But I guess that won't work if you need to shut it down.

    Recommend me quoting software

I've been using Morning Flight since 2008 and love it. Yes, it's interface is a bit dated and it did take me a couple of tries to get used to it and now I love it. They have a digital only version and are getting ready to release an updated version next month. I've always liked My Order Desk by...

New to mailing services -- need help getting started

Agreed. I love doing mailings and would be happy to do them all day, every day. In fact, that's the one product/service that I advertise almost exclusively. Start small and slow. Use a client that you have a very close relationship with.

New to mailing services -- need help getting started

I guess that makes me an exception to the rule? I am by no means a "mail house" unless that is defined as someone that mails in a house. Lol! I opened my shop ten years ago as a digital/quick print shop and in 2008 or 2009 I started mailing post cards for customers with a standard class permit...

    Versant 80P and envelopes

On my C75 with Advanced Finisher (corner stapling and hole punch), it has a middle tray that can hold a couple of thousand sheets (I think) and I did get it to send envelopes to it but it jammed a lot and when the stack got to over fifty envelopes or so, they would fall over and make a mess.

    Your Coffee Service at Work

We're only a two/three man shop but I get us Wawa or Chesapeake Bay Coffee Co (local coffee shop) coffee at least 3 times a week. Usually everyday. How's that for coffee service at work? The local coffee shop is piloting a delivery service that I am considering.

    Versant 80P and envelopes

That's what I wanted to hear! I suspected and hoped that would be the case. Babysitting comes with the territory when you don't have a conveyor belt. We typically do runs of less then 2500 when it's static but will go up to 5000 if they are addressed. Stickman42, we've always used digital...

    Versant 80P and envelopes

Thank you Wonderings. That tells me a lot since I can't run regular white wove envelopes.

    Versant 80P and envelopes

    I'll assume that's a joke. Lol

    Versant 80P and envelopes

I know this subject has been beat to death but I may be getting a Versant 80 Production model in the next couple of months and I want to know what brand of envelopes you use. Everyone on here has been saying how great it does envelopes. Currently, I have a C75 and it will run envelopes well, as...

    Xerox Freeflow vs EFI Fiery

Been looking at the Versant 80. Right now, I have a C75 with the bustled Fiery. I don't do much variable data except for simple addressing and not many of my jobs are color critical. Currently, I think I am using Fiery Server FS100. How does it compare to Xerox's Freeflow? Looking to save some...

    Printer advice for a newbie

I started my shop ten years ago with a Triumph 4700 manual cutter. I still have it and use it on occasion, backs a great backup cutter when my Challenge Model 20 is busy. It also makes a great channel score if you have less than 50 pieces to score. The trick is to use a cutting stick that has a...

    Customer address list cleanup

Thank you PricelineNegotiator. That's how I feel and I am appreciate your feedback. Especially concerning liability. Haven't thought of that so I will put something together immediately. This all started when I had a customer ask why some of their clients didn't get their letter (fortunately for...

    Customer address list cleanup

Sometimes the hardest thing about a post s deciding what topic it goes under. There was no Mail topic and I didn't see a Variable Data department so I figured this has a lot to do with workflow and it does occur before press. I'm just wondering how far other mailers go with correcting customer...

    Meeting Expectations

I used to hold up jobs because the type wasn't sharp or the pictures were blurry. 99% of the time they say it looks great and some of them get a little irritated at the inconvenience of their time and delay of the job.

    Does anyone use Quark anymore?

Choice, or lack there of, is the problem I have with Adobe. Love Illustrator but need Photoshop and InDesign too and then you're talking fifty bucks a month. So that has me considering Coreldraw - it can do vectors, page layout, AND photo editing for less than fifty bucks a month OR I can buy it...

    The Trump Bot

Gordo, that's because every other news outlet and social media platform can't stop talking about the presidential race. I am thoroughly sick of hearing about it and just plain disgusted. I'm sure I speak for some people when I say that I come to this form just because I know I won't hear about...
