I am in michigan have a few Ricoh production is there anything better and less expensive

Click charges are going to be very heavily dependent on volume and usage plus the machine and type of printing you're doing. Service varies across the market. Our print shop is with Canon at the moment and we're using v900's but those are overkill if you don't have the volume to support them...

I've been wondering who those people were. Nice to meet one of you in the wild. Yes.

Awww Come On! Leave The Poor Font Alone!

I like Calibri. Times New Roman. Shurg is fine. I do think Comic Sans is more appropriate for younger style and maybe not professional enough for serious publications. IDK what any of those things have to do with identity politics. Why can't we just say something like "we like this font and our...

Canon imagePRESS V1000: a year of repeatable issues, “within spec”

I think that was the image voltage adjustment but I can't remember for sure, it's been a few years for me also with the Xerox v2100s. The Canon's don't have that functionality at all. So it's not relevant to this machine. The closest thing the Canon's have is the secondary transfer voltage but...

    Canon IX 3200 Prisma

Maybe it's a generic library they ported from their digital lineup.

Looking to buy a Duplo 618

And if one does it's probably been used to within an inch of it's life, so plan to put money into rollers and things. LOL We use ours heavily and we aren't that big of a shop.

Canon imagePRESS V1000: a year of repeatable issues, “within spec”

We ended up sending our v1000 back to Canon after 6 months of fighting with it on colors/registration etc. They did finally replace a sensor which helped with colors but didn't solve all the other problems. We have v900s now and they're way more reliable. This is what worked for us: Even with...

    Ijet color 1175

Like I said, research it carefully and make sure you understand your numbers. It's clear these machines have a specific target market. If you aren't that market then it might not be the right machine for you.

    Ok, Now I'm Concerned

The word "nothing" also means nothing. Which means it means something. That something happens to be nothing. In other words... the definition of 6-7 roughly translates to "meh" as in "not enough difference to matter so it means nothing to me"

    duplo dc 616

Honestly, there's really no downside to doing 21 up from my perspective. We sell most of our business cards in a box of 250. If you're printing a proof first then you're going to end up printing 12 sheets with either method (24 or 21 up). Even a box of 1000 cards is only going to be 5-6 sheets...

    Ijet color 1175

I would carefully research the consumables cost. We found that the iJet we purchased was not as profitable to operate as they made it sound due to the consumable costs. Specifically the items required to do the regular maintenance, the ink cartridge costs and the print heads. Unless you're...

Does anyone use AI within the Print Industry

Oooh I pay for envato elements but haven't been over there in a while and haven't seen the ai thing. I'll have to go look at that.

    duplo dc 616

There's an option on the duplo 618 screen called "adjust shrinkage" if you're sheet is too long it allows for the variation of the cards shifting every time the blade hits the sheet. Once you get the hang of it, it's usually fairly consistent. We have all our templates permanently set to adjust...

Outsourced Binders bound the wrong side

There are a lot of people who just put their headphones in and blindly go through the motions. They aren't expected to engage their brains at all in the task at hand. Mindless actions repeated and a whole lot of "we don't accept responsibility" for the output. It's one of the reasons it's...

    Canon raised click prices +450%

Our shop just switched away from Canon Direct to a 3rd party vendor. I don't know yet if the grass is going to be greener here but... it was pretty dead where we were. The service was getting pretty bad. We went shopping over the click rates going up but ended up making the final decision based...

Does anyone use AI within the Print Industry

We don't use Pitstop in our shop as the complexities are more than what we need and the learning curve was too high last time I looked into it. I could look at it again, I think we have access to it via our Fiery Impose Licenses. If not, we won't pay for it. We have use Acrobat for Multipage...

Does anyone use AI within the Print Industry

This is the key phrasing... If you don't personally know how to write those scripts, it's very hard (from my experience) to find people these days who know what they're doing. Garbage code that works... is sometimes better and faster than the time it takes to find, interview and test out to...
