Yup, this is our last resort option also. You can also sometimes "faster" to use Adobe to convert it all to JPGs at 600dpi to preserve quality and then recombine to PDF. Or use ILovePDF.com to convert to JPGs (they come out lower res tho). But sometimes that's the only way to get it to print...
Ah. Yes. I just got confused by the word "matrix" being added. I thought this WAS "creasing" and the wheels were called "scoring".
Both our duplo have both options (Duplo 618 and Duplo 646). I only use the Creasing Matrix because the scoring wheels are unsatisfactory.
I just wish we had this...
For those of us in the back of the room... what is a creasing matrix? We have a duplo 646 but no matter what I try the creasing wheels just ruin the paper (tears rips etc) so we only use the creasing module but then it's tricky to get the exact scores to line up with our table-top folder.
We...
Plockmatics error messages are very generic an unhelpful (in my experience). I've seen that error message multiple times and it's always a different thing every time.
Usually we found it was a guide that had jumped a track (bent wrong or get pushed out of position). The single most useful thing...
Also since the rollers are on springs they only go "tight" on the outside edges. So if there is any bowing in the middle of the rollers then it will walk the middle.
For example 90% of our jobs we run thru are 12x18 sheets so that's where they rollers got compressed mostly. 11x17 sheets did not...
Let me look and see. It was in the millions. We used that machine pretty hard and we didn't realize originally that we needed to be cleaning the rollers regularly so I think they wore out faster than if we had been really diligent about cleaning the toner off of them regularly. On the new...
We had this issue and it ended up being that the rollers needed replaced. Our repair guy said basically over time the middle of your rollers gets compressed so that only the "outside" edges are holding onto the sheets as they run thru. This makes the middle of the sheets start "walking" as they...
Our plockmatic Morgana goes down to 5.5in tall by 4.25in wide but not sure if it’ll go smaller. Having said that if I I had a do over I would have spent more on a different machine.
Even at the 4.25in wide the face trim can leaves rubber marks on the final prints so we usually end up hand...
Lol. We actually do this! We recycle and reuse both the boxes and the paper wrappers that our paper gets delivered in for packaging for our shipments. Never had a customer complain about it though.
I kindof hope that’s not true or not the full picture. They’re gonna have to be extremely transparent with exactly what charges they are passing along. Charging a tariff surcharge on already installed software (which is absurd) or toner that is made in the USA? If this is just a money grab by...
There's an easy way for Xerox to avoid Tariffs... they could figure out how to make/source their toner in the USA instead of overseas. They would have better control of their supply chains then but they've insisted on having an incredibly complicated and problematic supply chain for many years...
Are you running Fiery's or PrismaSync? I do think the experience of the repair techs makes a big difference, our techs are Canon Direct but the one that was working on the v1000 was fairly inexperienced. We ended up telling Canon we didn't want that tech working alone on the v900s (we replace...
I have a PDF script that allows you to collate two separate files together (every other page). It works great for this usage. You just duplicate the entire pdf file and collate them back together). It also works when you have print spreads that need to be individual pages. You just crop the pdf...
We ended up insisting that Canon replacing our V1000 (and our c810) with two V900s in December.
Best. Decision. Ever.
Vastly superior print consistency. Significantly less downtime. We went from seeing repair techs multiple times a week and having the V1000 down more than it was up to seeing the...
Glad to see I'm not the only one who uses this word. I thought it wasn't a word but it is listed in the oxford dictionary and has been in use since the 1940s. :D
I used to believe common sense was at least... achievable with some explanation. Then I spent 8000 emails trying to explain to people that a 8.5in x 11in file doesn't scale down to 5.5in x 8.5in magically. I think my success rate on that "common sense" is at about 15%.
