Best Large format printer for Canvas Prints

more on Fuji Vivid Canvas: https://www.fujifilmusa.com/shared/bin/Fujifilm%20Vivid%20Canvas%20Spec%20Sheet%20v0508.pdf I see it is 44" max. I don't really know if "pre-treated" has any meaning here. All aqueous media is coated to be receptive to the ink/pigment. I think solvent's big advantage...

Best Large format printer for Canvas Prints

"Best" depends on you priorities of course. Aqueous printers like the Epson P10000/P20000 will meet your needs and give very high quality. There are pre-coated canvas for aqueous printers that reduce or eliminate the need for laminating or coating after printing. I don't know if they are...

    imagePRESS 850C or Versant 180?

Our V80 works well with envelopes and we got a "3/4 click"option for smaller pieces as compared to the standard 13x19 click. I wonder if you need the 'Performance Package" on the V180. We looked at it on the V80 and decided it was not needed for our volumes. If you dropped that option I wonder...

    Xerox C60 Printer

That was our experience - good, better, best over time. We went from 242 to 700 to V80. Was the 242 a great spec ? - nope, but we made money and grew our business. The key, as Keith said , is that we understood the limitations of each machine and managed file design and expectation accordingly.

    Epson 9890 - Missing Nozzles

    1. We also run a humidifier right next to our 9890 in the winter and I believe it helps. 2. I think big dropouts may not be head clogs at all but pressurization problems. Putting a fresh cartridge in in place of a nearly empty cart can help when one color appears to clog frequently - the system...

Epson 7800 driver error - close to defeat

When we used to have connection problems with epson X500 and X800 printers we would switch from ethernet to usb. I wonder if you tried installing it as network printer instead of usb you might be able to do an end-around the problem. I think you have eliminated this but older drivers can fail...

Eco-Solvent vs Latex vs Aqueous Canvas Printing

We use an Epson printer and there is no smear or smudge on the Vivid Canvas. I cannot address the behavior of the Canon printers. Sorry.

    Custom ICC Profile

Ben, I don't think Photoshop alone will do what you are looking for. In our Photoshop to Epson setup a simple print command will repeat the last selected profile if you use 'Photoshop Manages Color. " But to be honest, I check every time. I do know a lot of folks use inexpensive RIP type...

    Xerox supplies backordered

I am told ours have been slow like that ever since we got our Versant 3 months ago.We try to keep a bit deeper stock. Slower than when we ordered Docu700 supplies. We are in Ohio too.

    New to printing!

Well, BN you probably need to research many different costs involved in a printing business, especially a break-even analysis on a spreadsheet. You could look at this way, your first print each month will cost £3,000 and each additional will cost 7 p.

    Considering a Xerox Phaser 7800

You didn't ask but I would advise you to look at the operational cost of the Xerox 7800. I know several users of the previous generation version (7760) and the cost of toner and drums was so high that they went back to outsourcing as a cheaper alternative.

Free printer with guaranteed minimum consumable usage.....?

I'm in Ohio, so I don't know much about NH shops, but I have communicated with Photosmith in Dover NH in the past. You might give them a call for starters.

Free printer with guaranteed minimum consumable usage.....?

I remember there used to be a program like that for toner printers. I also recall that the printers were not suitable for photo or high quality graphics. I do not recall a wide format or photo printer offering a program like that. At the end of the day there are many good print shops out there...

Eco-Solvent vs Latex vs Aqueous Canvas Printing

We use the Fuji product due to their regard for longevity across the line. I have heard them recommend top coating if you want ultimate UV radiation protection. I was at meeting recently where LexJet discussed the effects of optical brighteners and extra tocoats, but I don't have direct comment...

Eco-Solvent vs Latex vs Aqueous Canvas Printing

We have not noticed any increase. We did note that were hardly using any green or orange ink with the type of printing were doing - hence the change to the simpler printhead.

New digital presses and contracts: Are 11x17 pages still usually 1 click?

On our new Xerox we still have our basic click apply to any sheet (up to 13x19) at a rate slightly better than we had on the previous Xerox printer, which had ta single click rate for any size sheet. On our new contract they added a price for 8.5x11 or smaller that is a lower click charge...

Eco-Solvent vs Latex vs Aqueous Canvas Printing

While I can't address all the questions you have, I can comment on a good product we use in our aqueous (Epson) printer that might be helpful. I have seen many other labs in our co-op group that do the coating of the canvas. We switched to Fuji Vivid Canvas and that eliminated the need to do...

    Introduce yourself!

Hi, My friends call me Larry. I recently discovered the PrintPlanet forums and they have helped me already. I come to printing from a different direction than most others. I started a photo lab in 1982 and we added what the photo biz refers to "digital press" (to distinguish from silver-halide...
