Sounds like you have a old Nexus classic CT/LW workflow running. The EPS is a Nexus Link file (Lores FPO) and the OPO is a Optimized postscript (Hires). This is just Artwork Systems version of a OPI workflow.

This is correct, but Esko has more then just the Flex Rip. If you have power layout, you might want to make sure you don't have a old Nexus or Odystar RIP license.

My understanding from the roadshow is that, AE10.0 is for the backstage users. AE10.1, due out in a month or so (I believe) is for the Nexus Customers with the Nexus Artpro customers. AE10.2 due out next year is for the Odystar and Nexus PDF customers. hope this helps.

It depends on what kind of stepping you are doing. Esko has Powerlayout for Illustrator that allows you to do tabular step and repeat via plug in. Power layout will eventually do all of the Cad based and nested but this is not going to be in until Drupa 2012. So, yes tabular. No nested or cad based.
