Recieved an insane quote for Formax ColorMax8 parts

This sort of thing is why I’ve been wary about these devices. Whilst the demos and versatility of the Memjet head is awesome, all the claims of how cheap each copy is, can be blown out of the water if you have a massive invoice to pay after just over a year. Are there any of the re-badgers...

Xerox Versant 180 wrinkles in paper

Welcome, for starters... When did the problem start? Does this only happen on one/all substrates? Does it happen from all paper sources? Is your paper catalogue set up correctly?

Nobody will give me a service contract for my Versant 180 despite low use & being immaculate.

I recall asking the same question at the time... linky

    Aqueous Coating

If the quote specifies an aqueous coating and you have accepted that quote, then there’s no reason for omission. However if it’s not been specified, then the supplier may just give the most cost effective solution, which excludes the coating.

Morgana Digifold Pro XL vs Multigraf CF375

We considered both. The CF375 because of good reviews on here and also as we are familiar with the Multigraf feeder, being the same as that on the Vivid Omniflow we have had for four years. However the Morgana Digifold Pro XL demonstration, across a wide range of our own jobs was faultless...

    Identifying High Quality Print Companies

Recommendations and real reviews, achieved over a period of years. Otherwise it's just noise. "Award Winning" on its own means nothing, unless the award is from a recognised and respected body, is substantiated, reasonably current and the business is still in the same ownership today as when...

    The Job Application

Depending on how intelligent the AI actually is, simply mentioning the name of the qualification you don't have and thinking about how you structure the words may weight things in your favour.

Best folder to use with digitally printed material

A couple of months ago we took delivery of a new Morgana Digifold Pro XL Very early days however every job its done so far has been much quicker, easier and more accurate than previously, in fact a pleasure to use. With coated digital stocks, apart from excessive static, air feed should resolve...

Nobody will give me a service contract for my Versant 180 despite low use & being immaculate.

Guys... To avoid a re-run of the previous saga, in which many of us spent many hours giving advice, test printing on our machines to show how things are done... be aware the OP is the same individual with a new handle. I'd offered UK based print & fulfilment services to the guy which was...

    Xerox Versant 80 rip

If the same as KM, you can install a driver on your server or PC and print direct to the engine, instead of going via the RIP

Water type streaks in printing jobs

Absolutely... even when the particular paper you're using isn't on the OEM's list of substrate whose manufacturers contribute generous adverting allowances each year to feature on the "approved list" which has been independently tested without bias and found to be far superior to anything else...

C6 envelopes on KM PF-707m paper deck

The customer brought in some 100GSM C6 gummed yesterday (she had stock as is currently printing them singly on a home inkjet) which we tested feeding on the short aspect with good results. Whilst one swallow doesn't make a summer, we did run 50 pieces with no jams and perfect output, so good...

    New to the digital printing

Contrary to what anyone says, the only printer with "basically zero maintenance" is one that's not used... however if it's not used for too long, guess what? You guessed - it will need maintenance! In your case, having two entry to mid level production printers would give you the most...

C6 envelopes on KM PF-707m paper deck

We have been asked to print C6 (114mm x 162mm) gummed envelopes which must have a diamond flap as opposed to a pocket flap. The PF-707m shortest substrate length is 139.7mm, exceeding than the 114m short edge of the C6 envelope, so if we are going to do this, the envelope is going to have to...

looking to start a print on demand business in canada

So you're currently in Punjab and moving to Canada? If that's correct, the first thing that springs to mind is you'll be used to 230V and 400V @ 50Hz. In Canada, frequency is 60Hz, single phase is 120V and 3-phase is complicated (208V / 240V / 480V / 347V /600 V variants exist)
