    How fuzzy is it?

Colleges and trade schools taught by someone with no real world experience. You know, the same ones who don't teach what a bleed is!

    Opinions needed....

Some items we print and mail for clients require a 6-3/4 remittance envelope. Some clients have been providing these to us which have been printed elsewhere. Some have been purchased online and some by other local shops that low balled the price. Most of the time we have to fold the envelopes...

Lines in the print on iJet 1175P

There are adjustments for pen spacing. Call them and they will walk you through it, very simple procedure.

MGX 10 mil and 15 mil Synthetic Paper and Ricoh 7210

We run Synaps from Nekoosa. Just be aware synthetics will show EVERY flaw your machine has and static is bad. We do get CQ issues that show on synthetic but not on coated covers. Even printing 1 sheet of synthetic and 1 sheet of coated cover right after another the synthetic images slightly...

    Best envelope printer?

What is your volume? That would help solidify an answer for me. Are you doing a few small runs of 500/1000 per week or more production?

Envelope printing saga with Riso ComColor-- Looking at iJet NXT or Mach6

You may want to specify that a little better and say Memjet vs iJet. The iJet HP heads are 100% performing to everything they have stated. We are 2,500,000 in on ours and they stated a minimum of 3,000,000 on the heads. We have no signs of any reason they will not go beyond 3,000,000. Also if...

    Best envelope printer?

Having both the Xante Enpress and the iJet 1175P it is a night and day difference. In quality for the vibrant color and think text/lines the Xante wins. For speed hands down the 1175P wins. That being said the Xante has not been used on almost a year as we have not had a single complaint about...

    Ijet color 1175

Actually we have compensated for that in our MIS by having different pricing based on ink coverage for the job. This is the same method that we used when we had offsets. Heavy coverage uses more ink therefore the higher price. To directly answer your question there in no click charge for inkjet...

    Cutter/Guillotine Blade Sharpening

I use a local machine shop that built a custom jig for our blades to hold the blade at the correct angle. They do a great job so maybe look for that type of service. Make sure you let them know the angle as recommended by the cutter manufacture, ours is 23 degrees.

Any way to know what clicks we did last month?

We run manual Excel spreadsheets for all the printers each month.

Ricoh vs Cannon vs Xerox Quality...

Our Ricoh 9200 and 7200 print much better than our old 1000i and V180. A lot less gloss differential and much finer screens.

Envelope printing saga with Riso ComColor-- Looking at iJet NXT or Mach6

With the 1175P we find coated pantone colors work out well. Most are fairly close and we have yet to have a customer complain. If you do a lot of fine text that will be an issue. I'm talking about 7pt and less and the super thin fonts.

Envelope printing saga with Riso ComColor-- Looking at iJet NXT or Mach6

What is your volume monthly? I will second the Riso is oversold on envelopes. Don't know about the NXT or Mach6 which are Memjet heads but the 1175P has the closest match to Xante or other xerographic output. Will NEVER match but way better than the Riso. They do have a scaled down 1175 that is...

    Need equipment advise

1 year into a switch from all Xerox to all Ricoh and not a single look in the review mirror. Ricoh direct has got it on in our area. Completely blowing Xerox out the door in both service and supplies. I am so glad I made the switch, plus my equipment cost is half and my click charges are 20%...

    Political Mailings

We are one of those few union shops. Only in it because years ago no one liked the other union shop in town and we were begged by a few locals to join. Really it's as useless as boobs on a bullfrog other than a select few who even know what a union label is. One thing I do with political...

New 64” XpertJet 1682SR Pro Printer

Having a Colorado 1650 for almost 2 years and a Mutoh for over 5 I can tell you the print quality on the Mutoh is more consistent with regards to banding or lines. The Colorado is hit and miss with lines at the swath boundary. Yes there are adjustments, but I have NEVER had to adjust the 1624X...

    Ijet color 1175

It's irrelevant because you should be charging for the ink per envelope just like paper. Your ink cost is based on the volume you are printing, just like offset ink. If your not calculating that you are setting yourself up for failure. It cost me on average of $4.50/M for consumables, and blank...

    Ijet color 1175

Send Printware PDF files of your typical print jobs. They will tell you the cost per 1000. The last simple top left corner job we ran was $4.20/M and that also includes the cleaning sled as well as ink. Changing cartridges is going to be based on your coverage which is irrelevant to me. As long...

    Ijet color 1175

I can assure you it does not mess up envelopes, but it does shoot our 3 or 4 blanks that you can add right back to the feeder. We've run upwards of 40,000 in a single job, running it as fast as it will run. You can set the cleaning cycle to your choice, this was a simple left corner text job so...
