    Printing advice please

You do not have to buy them on lease to get a service contract... well we didn't. Our first digital was a used one we bought directly from Xerox. They offered use service contract, we bought it outright. We have since bought all previous digital presses outright and had service contracts with...

    Color Calibration for Versant 80

I calibrate before the first colour job I print of the day. I find that calibration is usually good for the whole day, probably even more but I prefer daily calibrations. If it is a new customer and I am adjusting specific colours for them I will start with a fresh calibration and then go from...

    Printer Advice

Same with us. Sheet size does not matter. One side print 1 click. 2 side print 2 clicks. Does not matter if it is a #10 envelope or a 13 x 19 sheet, all the same click charge.

    CTP affordable recommendations

We switched from an old Presstek Dimension CTP a few years ago to a Screen CTP of the same age (Platerite 4100). The Screen has been fantastic and compared to the Presstek it is a dream. We bought ours used and were told that they have not changed much over the years so buying a new one over a...

    Ricoh c9200 Print Quality Issue

You said you had the same issue on an older press that would have me thinking it might be something stock related rather then machine related. Is it only with the one stock you are using or is it repeatable with different stocks?

They may even sell you that demo machine for a good price.

    Printer Advice

Good luck, I can only speak from our experience, every region can be different. Before we bought our first digital we ran a massive job, think it worked out to be around 144,000 clicks using a bunch of Xerox's printers. Part of it was demo, the other part was them helping us out as we were just...

    Epson 9900 Failed Cleaning

Our 9900 fails after a cleaning sometimes. I have 2 little spots that I can never get solid and think this is what causes the failure. Prints still come out great so I have not pursued it any further.

    Printer Advice

We have printed live jobs on demo machines. I can see them maybe not having a used machine up and running but any new machine they should have a demo unit on it. Take your most challenging jobs when you demo it, use your own stock, do it all yourself and let them watch and help if you need it.

    Printer Advice

I would get in contact with the big guys in this field. Talk to Canon, Ricoh, Xerox, Konica and tell them what you want and let them sell you. You might be able to get a better machine for less by going used. Our first Xerox digital we bought used direct from Xerox. Had full service contract and...

how to design a logo in word

As far as I know you will always be stuck with RGB or CMYK logos coming out of any Office app. So yes you could do a logo there if you are not going to need a specific pantone or spot colour. Not something I would recommend but do understand some people are on a budget and paying a designer to...

Xerox Iridesse jams and Fiery communicartion loss

They are so new and so few out there you probably are not going to find a lot of help. This is the unfortunate part of these newer machines, you are almost beta testing when you are an early buyer. Thankfully your problems will mean a more stable machine for those who buy down the road when they...

    Need help new Digital Press

Service is really going to differ based on area. We have been a Xerox shop for a long time, it is all we have used and part of the reason has been the service which has been fantastic. Others have a complete opposite experience being in another part of the country or world, so really hard to...

    Adobe Alternative...

I have all 3 though I do not use them for any production work. I hate the subscription model Adobe has forced on users but love the software, Indesign specifically. One thing I hate about the Affinity software is how it handles colours, spots, pantones, everything. Just seems so jumbled and...

InDesign numbering inside cells vertically instead of horizontally.

Can you post a screen shot of what you are trying to do? I am much more visual, not fully understanding what you are trying to achieve.

    Need help new Digital Press

Our Xerox Versant 2100 (current model is 3100) has been a real champ. It has been consistent with colour, has a full width array that allows for easy one click calibration for colour, side to side density as well as profiling paper for alignment and laser strength. Definitely prints 350gsm. A...

    Proofing question

We use Fiery XF for our Epson 9900. I like it, though have no real experience with anything else. Does the job and never gives me any problems. We go for pleasing colours so have no real calibrations set to try and match anything. What I do HATE about Fiery is they purposely lock out newer Mac...

    Xerox 3100 VS KM 6100

I am not so sure the time saving when switching between trays would really be noticeable. If there is a gap between switching I rarely notice it. Our 2100 has some quirky behaviour, not sure if others do this. I will have both high cap trays filled with #10 envelopes. Instead of using all the...
