Versant 280 - Side 2 will Not align, let alone center

Contact your sales person and have them escalate the issue to a more experienced tech. Your tech can't just throw in the towel if your machine isn't working.

    duplo dc 616

Yes, it can do 6 slits and 25 cuts in a pass. Just keep in mind you're gonna fight printer shrink/stretch on those layouts, and the tail end of your sheet will need some fine tuning for accurate cuts. I still prefer to run BCs on 9x12 or 8.5x11 to keep the cutting more precise.

    Xerox Proficio Range

I think inkjet will fully replace toner once the costs come down. Canon's newest inkjet offering looks better than toner and I can hardly tell the difference between it and offset. They still need to bring the costs down by about 200k, but it used to be more like a 700k gap, so I think in 5-10...

    Creative Creaser

I wouldn't call them creative, but hang tags, table tents, foldover business cards, wraparound covers, channel scores for perfect binds. There's a few of the less common applications.

    Graphtec F-mark issues.

This is your $500 USB hub for $7.99. It's discontinued, so this was the only website I could find with it in stock.

Does anyone use AI within the Print Industry

Fair point. The issue I have is there's no one capable of troubleshooting it if it's all being written by AI. I was speaking more outside of print, but it's gonna be an issue in all industries. It's like that movie "Multiplicty" where he keeps cloning himself until one of the clones is a moron...

Does anyone use AI within the Print Industry

I'm not seeing anything here that can't just be done manually with minimal effort. I just read this article this morning and I think the less you use AI the better. I think the only useful AI application is generating images/video and upscaling. Everything else is generally just making garbage...

Canon C8000VP (used) - need advice!

We have our C10000vp until next year and I think we will likely purchase a V1350. I also want to look at Ricoh, but I don't think Ricoh service is very good in our area. We inherited the Iridesse when we purchased another print shop. It's a great printer, it just has a lot of extremely low...

    offline booklet maker

We have the DBM-150 and it's great, but books don't lay very flat, I would not want to be face trimming them on a guillotine afterward. I've never run the Plockmatic, but to me the square back and face trim would be an instant sell if the prices are comparable.

Canon C8000VP (used) - need advice!

The 8000/10000 are EOL at the end of 2026. I wouldn't buy one at this time. I think it's a great machine, but you'd be kinda dead in the water come next year when they stop supporting it. We've been running a 10000 basically since it was new. It has some quirks I've complained about, but now...

    Creo Konica Minolta question.

The way I'd do it is create a hotfolder, then in Acrobat use the "split document" function, have it split in the # of pages you want and then export the files into your hotfolder so they rip in order.

    Spiral Binding Closing Down

Wow, thanks for the heads up. I haven't ordered from them in a while since we have a better local source, but that's gonna screw a lot of printers that used them primarily for bindery supplies. Saddle Point Systems | Bay Area Binding & Print Finishing Experts since 1989 is a good alternative for...

    You May Need This

I saw some samples last week and it's come a long way from the original version, so much so that I couldn't distinguish it from offset. It's still like $750k though, so it still needs 10+ years to be cost effective.

    Challenge 305 CRT went bad

If the CRT is truly dead you can convert it to a Microcut. We did this about 5 years ago on ours and it's worked great.

CanonIX 3200i w/ Prisma Trying to run NCR

Not sure what the Prisma Controller looks like on the iX, but on the Canon we have you can set up variable data and page counts per set. I've honestly never used it, but it should make cyclic media work properly.

CanonIX 3200i w/ Prisma Trying to run NCR

Haven't used an iX, but I used Prisma on a Varioprint 6320 for about 10 years. I always duplicate my pages for NCR jobs. So 2 pages for 2part, 3pages for 3part. I'm not sure if the cyclic media function will work otherwise. If it did jam it would always kick out the bad sheets to the purge tray...

User Colour Drum change on Xerox Iredesse?

Very easy to change out. The additional color stations are pretty easy to swap out as well. I think the thing I like most about the Iridesse is that everything is chest height, so you're not bending over or squatting to clear jams or swap parts.

    Press Trouble Shooting

I'm gonna order $3000 in parts that probably won't fix the issue. Let me know when they come in and then I'll ignore your phone calls for 3 days before I show up again 20 minutes before closing.
