Don't forget to give the two plates DIFFERENT color designations so you have two different color bars.
And if you can, add a percentage screen to the marks.
We might do this on one of the process colors, in Preps, and select the marks and change the designation amounts.
YMMV.
'#One' Pressman: Start density high, bring it down. Always looks 'full'.
'#Two' Pressman: Start density low, bring it up. Always looks 'light+more variation'.
We experienced this in a one month span.
Proofs never changed.
Showed the '#two' pressman same proof a month later.
Re-calibrated...
These 'schemes' we use are attempts to thwart ignorant decisions or actions by our customers.
The moment we shout 'Success!' in our attempts, the newer, better, more ignorant customer appears.
YMMV
Not trying to solve the problem.
YOU pointed out that the printers you use:
1. Can't match the supplied proofs.
2. Can't match THEIR OWN proofs.
Does that NOT bear on the 'craftsmanship/smashmanship' of the printers?
And I am not the only person here bemoaning the lack of craftsmanship on the...
Here in the US there was a case that went to the Supreme Court back when - decided if the contract didn't state the film/art/etc was the clients then it wasn't.
Which led to most buyers demanding contract specifics and most printers relinquished that semblance of control.
Always seemed dumb to...
We call those the final-final customers.
We reserve an amended production process for them.
It goes like this:
BEFORE we make a soft or hard proof we wait at least 24hrs UNLESS they specifically contact us and request a delivery time that is shorter.
THEN after approval we wait a minimum of...
Same here. Rookie salesman brought in a new client.
Client provided files, we provided proofs.
Client said "No, no, no. You are just like all those other Commercial Printers. Doesn't look like my inkjet desktop printer OR my monitor."
So we worked to get the file to match his sample inkjet...
Have you considered an aqueous coating running on your printing press / duplicator?
We do this on one of our older duplicators offline.
There are limitations on stock ie must be coated and fit the duplicator BUT we run digital prints through all the time with either satin or gloss.
YMMV
Not handy - the products vary.
You might consider an Advent calendar for example with windows that open but the balance of the layers are glued.
Does that assist?
Good morning all,
As the title suggest I am looking for:
A. A vendor/bindery who PRODUCTION pattern glues - East Coast preferable.
or
B. Equipment to PRODUCTION pattern glue.
Variable substrates typically less than 30 pt per layer.
TIA
