No Mac's. Windows. Macs are horrible for anything not graphics related, imho.

Glad you worked it out. When I need to scan a bound book, I cut the spine off, then just scan the flat pages through a automatic feed scanner. Canon DR-7550C scans both sides at once at an impressive speed. Colors are not always great, but good enough for 99% of my needs. Just saying.
