It was precisely an Illustrator file with PDF compatibility - the font loss was visible opening the file in Acrobat. I could argue with the fact of saving an AI file using PDF compatibility was not an issue for those who programmed this feature into Illustrator... But still, I don't wanna go...

It'd be quite dangerous. We runned into trouble doing this because the normalized pdf carries Esko metadatas that can lead to misunderstandings. My only advice is not to directly edit the normalized pdf but to copy-paste the graphics in a brand new AI file.

Have you ever opened a file in ILLUSTRATOR and then, after saving it as AI+PDF, realized that some font had not been embedded correctly? And then, simply by opening and resaving, the problem disappeared?

I'm not so tech-savvy for this ... I don't get it 🙁

Ulrich, I totally agree with you! A workflow like this is impossible to me! That's why I was asking fellows about their thoughts and procedures.

This is a nice testimony! 🙂 I also think it's too tricky to have a TVI curve for every ink - even if this is how I imagine how it should be.

Generally speaking about printing spot inks screens... How do you deal with it? Do you use ISO 20654 somehow? Do you press-proof every spot ink before running tha actual job? A single TVI curve for everything? What else? ... Whatever to talk about is well accepted! :)

What about Fluorometers? Are those a thing in printing industry?

Hi there! A client of ours sent us his color reading specs where you can also read: "white base: absolute" (see screenshot). Pity my English is not so skilled! How do you interpret that? The actual substrate must be white? Or there must be a white backing under the measured sample? Or what...
