    How to cut aluminum plates

We usually use the paper cutter knife and a steel ruler to lightly cut the plate and then bend the plate at the edge of a table to break the edge.

    Yellow ink contamination?

And when you stop the press for feeding paper or blanket wash, suddenly all the ink comes back onto paper as somebody accidentally poured ink directly on rollers.

Weird lines in presswork - any ideas as to cause?

It's definitely a Focus or Zooming issue,Ask your service guy to adjust the focus and zooming. Also let us know which CTP it is. Measure your plate thickness as well with a micrometer and see if its the same thickness as on the plate label. I hope this helps.

The case against the EPS file.

Does same apply for the PS files too? We sell a CTP brand and also provide a RIP free for one year, so we have to train new customers and as we are told to tell the customer that the best format to use is PDF, the problem starts where some customers still using old freehand files or corel draw...

    inks metallics

Great explanation D Ink Man, I as a pressman always tried to avoid printing metallic gold. I always used Metallic Silver and mixed some pantone colors to make imitation gold ink. It runs easily with fewer problems in ink water balance and also plate mileage increases.

Wrinkle/ delamination of paper surface - offset printing

Another old school eco friendly solution, if this is happening during makeready, just apply a small amount of coconut oil or cooking oil to the inked up rollers and carry on with makeready.:D I remember one of our senior pressman used to mix general purpose grease in ink to eliminate hickeys.

    Small 4 colour offset press

If I understand correctly you saw single color GTO's for around 6K mark. If that's the case then no, you cant link those GTO's. If you buy a single color GTO, you will have to run a four color Job 4 times (one color at a time). In GTO there are two different size models, GTO 46 and GTO 52. I...
