Thanks Mark-the film used to create the silkscreen is smooth-no banding to add noise too. I believe this is a press issue.

We have a phenomenon happening to our gradients on press. Has anyone seen this before? The films we use to shoot the screens are perfectly smooth but we get a ragged look near the midpoint and again in the lighter tones. We have tried multiple dot shapes, angles, resolutions with no luck...

We do industrial graphics-automotive, appliances, etc... The Epson doesn't have the quality we require-might be fine for t-shirts?

We still have a 90's Barco Megasetter Plus with an Esko front end. The quality is hard to beat after all these years.

With the ability to set an item to Multiply or Darken so widely available in most graphic applications, is there a need for the overprint checkbox anymore? Just curious.

Agreed-the HP was great...from 1997!!!! The problem is, I just found that Esko has a very specific list of printers they support so my question should be re-posted in the Esko forum. We just need a content proofer not contract or mock-up. Thanks for the response.
