    It's hard to believe.

Ditto. We tested each mission critical system and fixed them. You weren't one of the dweebs!

    It's hard to believe.

And imagine my surprise at the news and punditry responses. As a computer nerd, just as a test changed the date on my macs and pc's to 2000 to see what happened, everything was fine. And all the geeky blogs I read laughed and said 'stupid dweebs.' :)

    Xerox announces a 15% reduction in staff/employees (1/3/2024)

Not shedding per se. Making service a 'different entity.' Anything to do with payroll, ie human cost, gets outsourced so you can write it all off and don't have all those fiddly bits to deal with.

    Prinergy network question...

Truth is stranger than fiction. Whoever set up the 'server' to allow remote connections should be the responsible party to diagnose/repair your connection. You may not have the ability to 'fix' the problem. PUNT the task - convince the new owners you are not in control of nor cognizant of the...

Software options for wide format printing

Standards, yes. Make the job easier for all. Conversely I have had multiple professional relatives bring up the topic, not at my urging or comment, of how frustrating some specific software products can be for them as the 'standard' has made their jobs much harder than previous. Agreed. But...

    Prinergy network question...

Our current leased Prinergy system MUST be available to their technicians 24/7/365. Probably phone's home constantly.

Software options for wide format printing

Very good actually. It depends on Adobe not changing their file options. And I use MarkzWare to import INDD and QXP files into Affinity Publisher. We also use the really good Qoppa PDF Studio instead of Acrobat where we can. The only missing piece to replace the Adobe products completely is a...

Software options for wide format printing

And I'll recommend the Serif Affinity line of products INSTEAD OF ADO$BE. Really.

    Being Competent

And when you have a customer distracted / incompetent enough to send you PART of that 'most important' job you just know they'll have lots more changes and still want the same delivery schedule and the same quoted price. 80-20 rule applies. These guys are the 20% of the customer base who we...

Unique Rotation, Skew and Mirroring in Acrobat Pro DC

There is that word again. 'Skewed' would mean distorted in one or more dimensions. You mean to say 'Rotated' albeit slighty. Yes I am picking a nit - but they are completely different graphic dimensional descriptions. It's like saying 'Yeah, that's a little white' when it's black. Completely...

Unique Rotation, Skew and Mirroring in Acrobat Pro DC

Your article about rotation and mirroring is very nicely done. 'Skew' is a distortion in one or both dimensions. THAT is a feature I would like to access in Acrobat.

Mac OS 13 and Adobe Creative Suite / Pantone Connect

Oh yes. We definitely have it turned off. But we interface with 'cutting edge' designers. So my machine is the guinea pig for software updates. :) My 'solutions' to problems trickle down as updates are rolled out to the rest of the team.

Mac OS 13 and Adobe Creative Suite / Pantone Connect

My biggest issue with CS is the constant 'upgrading' of the apps by Adobe wether you want it or not. Recently 'font activation' has gone wonky. Sigh. Day to day it is acting differently. And then they constantly 'add new features' which CHANGES your defaults (Acrobat) BACK to what THEY think...
