To alleviate the static, I use an all-metal rack and leave the stack on there for 1 day if the static is really bad. If I have to turn them around on the same day, I will put them on my jogger and let them bounce around for a little bit, not as good as waiting a day but gets the job done.
So far the blade is doing fine. I think I saw somewhere that it has something like a 3 million cut estimate. I also wonder if the blade can be sharpened rather than replaced.
I have had a 618 for a little over 2 years now. It has never required repair. It does require maintenance every now and then. It is most noticeable when the last row of business cards start coming out skewed, then I know I need to clean toner off of the rollers.
I haven't had very good luck...
I run the 450gsm 14mil Synaps XM. As far as 10000 cards, you can print all those in an hour or 2. Currently we cut ours on a couple of our 5x10 Colex cutters as this material just snaps belts on our rotary die cutter. You can get the material at WCP Solutions on the west coast.
I may have asked you this in a previous post about something else. What material are you printing on for your 20mil plastic cards? The best I have been able to do is a 14 mil plastic, which is out of spec as far as the gsm is concerned, but it is flexible enough to not matter.
Also, how are you...
We don't buy by the pallet usually, but I was able to get 22k parent sheets of gloss within 3 days of ordering. I'm west coast though. Haven't had issues with paper. My problem has been with synthetics like Synaps, I usually have to wait 2 weeks to get 1000 sheets.
I am actually looking to replace my rotary die cutter. It is very limited and we don't like having to wait for custom dies. We have 7 colex flatbed cutters, 1 Kongsberg and 1 Summa, they just aren't fast enough when cutting thousands of small items. I was able to speak to someone about the laser...
I'm curious if anyone is using laser die cutters for sheet to sheet. We are looking at a few different kind of die cutters and are intrigued by the lasers equipment. We especially like the PaperOne 3500 from SEI Laser, but haven't heard any real world experiences.
If you have a fiery on your digital printer you could get a license for impose, you may already have one. Or, try this, it might have what you need, it is also free. Press Release 2020-30-01 - Meadows Publishing Solutions
Good question, but we don't outsource anything. I had a 39,000 run just 2 weeks ago and didn't have toner issues. It just so happens with this job being so black heavy, it was kind of an anomaly for us.
I'm running 23,000 13x19 double sided full bleed (2up 8.5x11 trifolds) for a total of 46000 pieces. The artwork is about 80% black. I am going through a black toner bottle around every 2000 sheets. I have the rendering intent set to "relative colorimetric" on the fiery so that it uses other...
We have a Ricoh c7210x with a Plockmatic 5050s on the end. We have been very happy with the Rioch, the print quality, reliability and general use of the machine have been great. The problem is with the "Problematic" we had the first unit replaced as it was deemed a lemon. We have just over 7000...
