can i find solution in acrobat for missing image link in illustrator

Save as an optimized PDF and select "delete private data of other applications" (or similar wording), then open with Illustrator. This will force Illustrator to use the actual PDF data instead of the Illustrator native data which calls for the link. You might want to use only the elements from...

    Hard Drive Recovery Software?

gig0: I agree that Recuva appears to deal with data corruption. My post was referring to the CloudBacko service the OP mentioned. Sorry I didn't make that more clear. If the problem is only data corruption (e.g., the power went out at exactly the wrong moment, and the file system ended up with...

    Hard Drive Recovery Software?

The service you posted a link to appears to be a backup solution - not what you need at this point. That would help you if everything on the disk were previously backed up using that service. If you have any linux/unix experience or have some patience and willingness to learn, I would suggest...

    complicated design

If you want the pattern to be made of vector objects, I would avoid explicitly duplicating the objects, unless you would end up with less than 1,000 separate paths. This can cause trouble with rendering. You can define a pattern swatch with Illustrator, then fill a large rectangle with the...

    Question on screen angle

97.5 is the same as 7.5 (just like 90 is the same as 0), unless the dots are not in a regular evenly-spaced grid or they're elliptical. If they're elliptical, that won't really make much of a difference in moire, and if they're not in a regular grid, it would probably make it worse. Angles over...

I'm at a loss to explain this

Is this Indesign? Turn off "use ligatures" in the character palette if so and see what happens. My guess is the font data has ligatures for those pairs (which usually don't have ligatures) pointing to those glyphs. I think most fonts with ligatures just have fl, fi, ffi, and maybe ffl.

    TVI in Highlights

I'm not an expert in the particular software you're using, but one possibility is that ICC profiles for presses commonly use a lookup table and interpolate linearly for the great majority of coordinates. If the lookup table has a resolution of 9, then the data would be interpolated from stored...

    File Redirecting

This would probably be simple enough to do with a bash script using commands already built into OS X. I can probably help you out with this - send me a private message (no payment required). I actually hate it when people use private messages to take solutions off-forum, but the particular...

    Bates numbering for carbonless paper

Nevermind - that wouldn't work! You would get all of the pages from the A document, then B, etc. I use the mmv command line utility (which doesn't come with OS X or Windows) when doing this sort of thing to swap the filename parts. You could probably use the "split document" command, and set...

    Bates numbering for carbonless paper

You could make a separate pdf document for each of the four parts, sequentially number each one, save them as e.g.: A.pdf B.pdf C.pdf and D.pdf. Then extract all pages as individual files for each of the four numbered PDFs into a common directory. Then combine all the single page PDFs into one...

    Action Lists

I'm sure abc will give you a good solution via private message, but in case you're still waiting, and for the benefit of everyone else not getting the private message: If you have a fixed number of possible ink names, you could build the action list like this: Select spot color (selecting...

    PDF Password Removal

There is a PDF proof task processor, which creates a rasterized PDF, but there is also one that gives you an abstract PDF. I believe it's just called "Export." I use it all the time to give a final PDF to customers that request one - then I don't have to look at the run list and spend the time...

    PDF Password Removal

I think I used the same site Jackie posted once and it worked. Hopefully there isn't a file size limit below the size of your PDF. I use Agfa's Apogee Prepress RIP, and many (but not all) secured PDFs can be stripped of their restrictions by creating a job that's just hot folder input, then run...

Problem with the Hard Disc of Agfa Accuset 1200

I found this on the internet, and it looks like a good tutorial: Mucking About With Technology: Disk Cloning (for Data Recovery) with GNU ddrescue I would suggest you put in the boot CD, turn off the computer, then disconnect all drives except for the bad drive and the new replacement drive...

Problem with the Hard Disc of Agfa Accuset 1200

I don't have a clue about what you need to have on the hard drive, but I do know that most of the time when hard drives fail, it's a surface error and you can get nearly all of the data off. If it's a mechanical failure or a blown circuit, all of the data is probably good but you'd need someone...

Anyone know how to get a Null Profile in a FreeFlow/ Xerox 700 workflow?

A lot of machines encode their serial number, and often the time with yellow dots to aid in forgery investigations: Printer steganography - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Is this what you're seeing? If so, there's almost certainly no way to turn it off. It would be appropriate to calibrate...

Preserving color bar with ink optimization

If you can get images at platesetter resolution after screening, I would try replacing the patches in the colorbar with prescreened high resolution images. Then to the RIP, no pixels would be 50/40/40/0, only different combinations of 0 and 100 percent of cyan magenta and yellow. You'd probably...
