Very few of our customers request a hard proof, but when they do we just keep one behind. Used to get signed proofs but these days that’s a formality we don’t normally require.

Printing on Mixed media weights will do that. On my machine I will preprint inserts, then collate them into the job using the post fuser trays. Also setting the paper weights as similar as possible should help.

I agree, set aside some sample files and your preferred media and go from there.

I used to have problems with this. One factor was getting rid of our km 6085, as everything off that had a lot of static. But I have a cheat sheet of settings I use every time I have text weight and I don’t have many issues anymore.
