    Ricoh Pro C7500 vs C7200X

Is the only difference the equipment cost? Or is service cheaper on one or the other? I’ll tell you - when we bought our 7210x in 2021 the “age” of the machine was one argument against it that KM (our former provider) had, and of course only now are we seeing an update. KM had a new...

    Hand fed booklet makers

That’s correct. I prefer to use the printer for its strength - printing. I did not purchase much inline finishing with the Ricoh. No problem with any mix of stocks I’ve used on the booklet maker, some jobs or covers get creased / scored when appropriate.

Ricoh 7100 - blue light blinks but does not print

occasionally on my 7210 after performing a service it may act similarly - the solution for me has been to open and shut the print engine doors and or the door nearest the main paper trays.

    Hand fed booklet makers

At the time we bought it, 2021, I think it was around $19k after delivery and such. That is with the optional face trimmer. We bought it at the same time as our new Ricoh 7210.

    Hand fed booklet makers

Yep, I decided against the feeders. Hand feed is completely fine for our run lengths. It jogs perfectly and you can adjust the amount of times it jogs. I cut my books down on two sides before hand feeding, and let the machine do the face trim. Ready to go in the box.

    Hand fed booklet makers

Love our dbm 150t. Works beautifully and efficiently and handles just about anything size / thickness / stock wise I throw at it. Not a cheap machine but gets daily use so worth it.

    How OLD are your macs?

I used to be a Windows / DIY PC guy, but at some point maybe around windows xp it became uninteresting / not a good use of my time to fool with. A majority of audio software and hardware sold today and then is Mac optimized, so it was a logical choice to make the switch when that became my...

    How OLD are your macs?

Performance out of the m series Macs is certainly pretty good for most people. I would buy one for home, though just finished a divorce and frankly, my old system works so I’m not in a big hurry. I feel like the biggest advantage to an M series mac is the heat, noise, and power specs. My old...

    How OLD are your macs?

I have a 2010-2012 12 core Mac Pro at home, still kicking (I use it for audio work mainly). Bought it pretty cheap on eBay around 2016. Though obviously can’t really be updated further. Also have some even older models (g3, g4, g5) that all technically work. At my current job they had a...

So... I knew I was going to regret it!

4 weeks? I’d be not paying the bill at that point, that tends to get the right folk’s attention. I agree that it’s probably time to look past your V80 regardless. Maybe get some competition’s sales people in there. I’m surprised your dealer isn’t trying to upgrade you out of it.

    Upgrading from Xerox V180. Options?

I have a Ricoh 7210x…by far my favorite digital press I’ve used. No machine is perfect but we Almost never see the techs. It just runs. And I have a stash of parts I can easily change if needed. Registration is the best I’ve seen out of any comparable machine. Currently have almost 2...

Xerox 700i for Sale in Los Angeles $1500

This wouldn’t be a reliable workhorse even if Xerox were willing to write a new service contract on one.

Printing Tabs - Straight or Reverse

I don’t normally run precut tabs these days, but the prevailing need for one direction of the other was often dictated by which machine or paper drawer I intended to feed from.

This…sometimes we have customers with this question and it’s always..they are using their phones and or a non Adobe viewer.

    Iridesse color consistency issues...

That’s the kind of runaround racket that helped turned me off Xerox, and yes they gave me all of the same excuses. Lord, no commercial print shop has ever in real life used “Xerox” paper right? Ask them for a sample case to try it, to shut them up. Hang up an external hygrometer to monitor the...

    Need help in this situation

Check your contract…third party I’m guessing? We bought our 7210 direct, it does not have any stipulation, and our clicks are locked for the 5 year term.

    New Ricoh Pro C9500

I rarely readjust, cover weights seem to be very consistent, occasionally have to readjust a text weight. Maybe two or three times a year for the problem stocks, but most stocks I haven’t adjusted at all after setting.

    New Ricoh Pro C9500

This is really a non issue on my 7210. Run the alignment once (per paper profile) and save it to your paper profile, good to go next time unless your paper varies in sizes. It’s 35 sheets on the “more precise” mode. That’s like…what $4 worth of paper or less for most stock? Over the lifespan...

    Proof disclaimers

I send proofs on everything, largely to try to get them to look one last time before printing, and review any corrections I had to make to get their job print ready, and confirm specs / layout. Reality is - my printed color off a digital press is unlikely to exactly match what they are looking...
