Who is Responsible for Printing Intellectual Property

That does a pretty good job of clearing things up for me. The example I had was someone wrote their own story based upon an existing story. Lets say Superman for instance. Fans of the stories write their own and its called FanFiction. They talked about getting their own novel printed for only...

    Die Cutting 1000 sheets/day 400 gsm

This is great advice. Im sure there's tons of consultants out there that could help. Id love to help out if I just understood what you are wanting. But like we said, were just all confused.

    Die Cutting 1000 sheets/day 400 gsm

These are your direct words. "FYI we have always been ahead of the competition by doing things ourselves and have been recognized in the industry for being ahead of the competition in packaging." But thats besides the point. I don't want to get into a he said she said argument. If you want...

    Konica Minolta c6000 print speeds

Brochure below says A3 at 34ipm. Im guessing 12x18 would be around 32-33ipm. Duplex that and im guessing you'd be at 15-16ipm. Can you get a Customer Expectation Document from your rep? We have one from Xerox that list everything about the machine...

    Die Cutting 1000 sheets/day 400 gsm

Every time you post, it seems to confuse me more and more. Now your saying your a leading innovator, trend setters and Trail Blazers in the packaging market? I don't want to be rude, but someone who is considered those things isn't worried about the cheapest way to produce something, and so much...

    Ricoh C9200+C7200 v Xerox Iridesse

Are you saying they are wanting to get you out of your 3100 and into an Iridesse at a lower cost? When the 3100 came out we wanted to know if the Xerox branded finishing could go on our 1000i. They said no, but made us a pretty good deal to get us into the 3100. Im pretty sure they wanted that...

    Die Cutting 1000 sheets/day 400 gsm

Shredder, I think it would help if you would restart this and tell us what exactly it is your trying to accomplish. I think a lot of us (or me at least) are confused as to what it is you are wanting to produce and how you currently produce it. Here would be a good starting point of things to...

    Die Cutting 1000 sheets/day 400 gsm

Neither of what you linked is what I would consider "precise". Theres always going to be a tolerance. But I know on our Challenge 305 and Challenge 20 we can split the cut marks. Doesn't get much more precise than that. Comes down more to your printer being able to print tight tolerances. The...

    Die Cutting 1000 sheets/day 400 gsm

You can still print 13x19 and then cut to an appropriate size for the Kluge to run. Other than the kluge, your looking at $20k min Like mentioned above. Die cutting isn’t necessarily a simple operation. To do it well, it’s not simple. It’d be like saying why have a huge polar Mohr cutter when...

Who is Responsible for Printing Intellectual Property

So I was wondering, who is responsible for making sure that intellectual property isn't violated in printing. Is it the creator or the printer? If I have someone send me a file of say a book that they wanted printed for personal use and they are the creator of the book, but it uses intellectual...

    Die Cutting 1000 sheets/day 400 gsm

Well if its a delta hang, that will be a die cutter and not a stack drill. cheapest die cutting machine would be a Heidelberg windmill press converted to die cutting. but takes up space and has a learning curve to run. Not easy The other option would be a digital finishing system from say...

    Die Cutting 1000 sheets/day 400 gsm

What size holes? Are you doing 6 holes in each individual piece, or 1 hole in each? If it’s one hole in each and same spot, guillotine cutter and then a stack paper drill. That’d be your easiest way and least expensive way. Automating for that low of an amount is gonna cost you big upfront money.

How cheap are Riso inkjet printers to run?

Shredder, I hope this doesn’t come out too blunt or harsh, but your simply looking at options that no one else is doing. These are mature products, and if people aren’t using them currently for what your wanting, you can’t reinvent the wheel. If what you are wanting to do isn’t being done by...

You might very well be correct in that. Thats why they say to stock up on the 3 B's. Beans, bullets, and bullion.

Id say no, Looks like you need to clean your sensors and check drums and other areas for damage or dirtiness. Those are streaks, not banding.

Pay Per Click vs Pay Per Visit

I guess my thinking is if your doing that much work outsourcing and your spending that much money, your probably not getting a very good deal on your printing prices. Are they a trade printer? And buying in 25-50k lots seems counterproductive to printing digitally. Unless variable, no digital...

Pay Per Click vs Pay Per Visit

If your printing these in line on 6x9 sheets and finishing in line, I’d like to know what your actual cost per book is. Because I’m betting me and a lot of others on here could beat the price by printing 4 up and finishing off line. My guess is just your clicks and paper run you around $4.75/book?

Pay Per Click vs Pay Per Visit

Somethings off them. I figured it out right off the top of my head and you should be running this on 13x19. You could do the 200 books on just over 11k sheets.

Consumables only run you 2k/year including drums? Quick search showed $1700 for a toner set and 4 drums. Use another toner set and your over 2k. Honestly, you’ve already made up your mind. You asked our opinions and we gave them to you. You’ve came back saying “well this is cheaper” etc each...

    Following Guidelines

My favorite part about mask and the coronavirus is that the people who are all upset about people not wearing a mask and saying they won't get vaccinated are the same ones who will turn around and say "my body, my choice" when asked about abortion. Like ok, you can't have it both ways. You can't...
