Give this a try, I have had some good results with this series of UV inks and coatings

So ssutton did you solve this problem by changing inks, have you involved the ink supplier and requested they do a full analysis of your Magenta and Cyan inks. This should result in a claim for downtime caused by their products. Keep us up to date. Cheers
As you say only the cyan and magenta units are affected I would hazzard a guess that you have some damaged inking rollers in those units. I have seen pieces if metal imbedded in rubber rollers causing scratches in the machine direction. Your platemaking process doesnt care about cyan or magenta...
Listen to your ink technician he is correct. You need to do a 'Banded Anilox' test to determine the correct anilox needed for your application.

Try something like this, as I said I have no experience of printing on walls but I know this is a good primer

I know nothing about wall printing but one thing you said I can relate to, that is that your results depend on the quality of the wall you are printing on, this is true to most printing method that if you print on poor stock you usually get poor results. Can you not prepare the wall better by...
yes Kentucky Shine is the product I am somewhat familiar with, never used it but when I researched it from other users they told me some nightmare tales of coating dried on rollers and having to remove the rollers to scrub them and not able to stop the press for more than 10 mins. You pays your...
you cannot apply Aqueous waterbased coating with a offset print unit, you need a dedicated coater with IR and hot air. You can apply varnish with a print unit but you will never match the type of coverage that you will achieve with a coater. If it were me I would get a 4 or 5 colour press + AQ...
Maybe get some of these to measure the dose of UV you are getting, just because you turn the lamps up does not mean you are getting efficient dose, I have used these before and they highlighted so issues at the outside edges of our lamps...
Smoothness of UV coating can be related to 'flow out' thats the time between coating being applied and being cured. the longer the flow out time the better.
I have had good results from heating the UV coating which makes it flow better, always make sure your coating is being agitated gently. Is...
Is it your age or your type of experience that's holding you back from getting a job. I am assuming you are interviewing for jobs which are not in the newspaper field, Is your experience current and valuable to other print areas, you may need to 'update' your skill set.
You may have to...
The 'kick back system' reverses the ink duct steel roller every so often to help reduce the effect of debris in the ink in the ink fountain that can effect the ink key profile. I am not sure if it is adjustable but if you were running paper like newsprint I am sure you would encounter more...

How long have you been working with one of these systems, I would be interested to hear about the system's reliability and what type of reduction of makeready times are you seeing
