    Paper woes and Canon

I'm switching as much as possible from Titan to Sappi Digital for my Xerox Versant 4100. Solid colors look better with no adjustment and the Sappi paper doesn't scratch as easily. Price is almost the same.

Versant 280 buy-out lease vs new lease Xerox Primelink C9200, or Fuji SC180/SC285 or RICOH Pro C5400S

Xerox has major financial struggles with huge bonds maturing on 2028. I'd switch to Fuji- same machine basically. I don't have experience with them, but some others in this forum have low opinions of the Ricoh C5000 series. You might quote a Ricoh C7500 and Fuji 2100 to see if you get better...

    Fiery Ecosystem - please explain...

You may have to right-click > Process and Hold on jobs after they have been dragged between Fiery machines to re-rip for destination printer.

Greetings from an R&D Ink Chemist (Industrial UV, Eco-Sol, and Packaging Inks)

I currently sublimation print glass kitchen products like tempered glass cutting boards (image is on the non-cutting side) that go through dishwashers. To save on sublimation coating, could I uv print glass to go through a dishwasher for years without major image quality loss?

    Challenge Titan 200

My company has had a Challenge Titan 200 for about a decade. The machine has been pretty good, but here are some gotchas: -Get some spare love-joy couplings for the hydraulic power unit (combination pump and manifold). Challenge sells the HPU as a single unit for $8000 (I think), but there is...

Curious—how many of you handle design in-house vs outsource?

We (nicely) kick Canva messes (usually lack of bleeds, edge hugging, and templates of the wrong size) back to the customer to fix and have instructions pre-written. Sometimes they'll pay us to fix at $105/hr. Upwork is a good resource for stuff that we can't do efficiently like tracing messy...

Shopping for a new Digital Press...

If you're dead set on Xerox, see if you can get a refurb V4100. If you're in the US, X-digital can supposedly handle the Xerox Support certification for you. Shopping for a new Digital Press...

You can refurbish the 2nd btr. Takes like an hour and the kit will run you about $200 USD. Make sure to replace the brush. It sucks that Xerox is throwing you under the bus, but having your secret squirrel parts stash may be cheaper than waiting on them and losing money on lost jobs if the 280...

Shopping for a new Digital Press...

If you're in the Americas, talk to x-digital in San Diego. I got a refurb V4100 from them for under 100k with almost every accessory. They'll sell you parts too. If you find a digital press manufacturer that makes service manuals available please let me know! I've asked around Printing United...

Xerox -v- Fuji Quality of Service (UK)

A pertinent question is will Xerox's service stay good for the life of your printer lease? Xerox has an ever dropping market cap / share price and multiple billions in debt, with huge loans maturing in 2028.

Xerox Versant Decurler fix 048-310 048-311

Made a new pin from a $6 piece of rod from a metal supply house. I am curious what the official repair path is.

Xerox Versant Decurler fix 048-310 048-311

I'm guessing $1000-$2000 for the module and another $1000 or more for shipping. I'm in a part of Alaska with an ocean freight monopoly.

Xerox Versant Decurler fix 048-310 048-311

Thanks for the digikey tip! Soldering is no problem, but this pin is a physical shaft that broke, not an electrical pin.

Xerox Versant Decurler fix 048-310 048-311

We have had persistent Xerox versant decurler module errors 048-310 and 048-311. Upon further investigation, the pin connecting the big cam gear to the cam shaft is broken. The pin is about 3mm x 40mm. Is there a Xerox part number for that pin or a rebuild kit? Partsdrop.com came up blank. Thanks.
