    Signa Question

Job Templates Job Templates Hey Guru, thanks. I was looking at that as a possibility when I got the notification about your post. You saved me some time in tracking down the how-to. The suggestion of having a job template that gets re-used and modified was not as well received as I had...

    Signa Question

Automatic mode will not allow more than one press sheet, at all. That sort of limits the usefulness of the whole thing since not every job is 16, 32, 48, etc. and my planning dept would howl and shriek like a banshee if I told them that we only do 4pg sigs from now on. So the end result is yes...

    Signa Question

OK Marko, that automatic imposition thing is seemingly on the right path and I've been able to make it work in testing. Perhaps we've found where the grail is hidden. Thank you for pointing in the right direction. Haven't gotten into it far enough to find out if you can add an 8pg and a 16 for...

    Signa Question

Hey Guys, Thanks for taking time to help. First off, we did have some training and it did get us going as far as standard uses of Signa, ie; creating impostions in imposition and montage work modes. We've had to really discover the finer points on our own. We started at version 4.0 and were...

    Signa Question

Hi gang, hoping someone out there can help me out. Apparently someone at Heidelberg has told some of the higher-ups in the company that Signa can be used to create standing imposition templates that can be pulled in and contain all page size, signature/folding info and trim margins thereby...

    Printhead problems on HP Z-series

Me Too Me Too I've seen the same thing happen with our 2100. Recently had to run 60 prints with heavy coverage, first 50 ran with no problem but the last 10 were a pain. Printer would start out fine and then have banding where the cyan seemed to drop out. Anyone know what's causing it? Monkey

    HP Z2100 Proofer w/i1

Hi Gang, Just wondering if anyone out there using the HP Z series printers with the built in spectrophotometer had ever had to clean the optics of the spectro. I'm using the Kodak Matchprint Injet 3.2 and checking calibration daily. I'm starting to see an increase of the DeltaE reading for...

    Richard Wright Dead at 65

I'm sure from all the music discussion that there's at least a few Pink Floyd fans here. Sure some of you were as shocked as I was to hear about the death of Rick Wright from cancer. I hadn't heard anything about his illness. Wouldn't have suspected either since he was on tour with David Gilmour...

    How automated is your Prinergy?

Re: How automated is your Prinergy? WOw Duane, that sounds great. I was a little skeptical of the reality of automation. It's still dependant on getting the files in correct to begin with though, right? Have you had any issues in training your customers to send PDFs that are ready to go? Monkey

Greatest Rock Album of All Times

    New To Prepress

Re: New To Prepress Hi Matt, Welcome to my nightmare. I've been doing this for 22 years now and I'n an inkoholic. All the advice you've gotten so far is right, some advantage to working 2nd shift, like the lessening of the adminisphere after dark. Small shops are good for you, get an overview...
