    Morgana DigiFold Pro

If you don't have the narrow or ultra narrow (rare) creasing blade, turn your existing blade upside down for thinner stocks.

How exactly dot gain tests are performed and how results are interpreted

The advantage of a busy test chart with a high ink coverage is that if the density goes too high, there is some good coverage to bring it down fairly quickly, saving you some sheets. I used to place the step wedges at various positions across the sheet, but always running from head to foot and...

If you haven't tried the narrow creasing blade, then try turning the blade unit upside down. trust me

    Heid DI feeding issue

I'm sure this must be a sensor issue, The 3 sheets fed should have reached a certain point in the press by the time it picks up the first. If the sensor doesn't 'believe' the sheets arrived on time it will stop the press as ait believes there has been a jam. What was printed on the first side...

    Banding Issues

Is it it printing banding or curing banding. If you print uni directional with only 1 lamp on do you get the same problem?

DUPLO PUR Binding Issues, help me! Before i lose all my hair

Hi Tim You may be on to something there, when the nozzle is closed for the thinner book, the hole is smaller, which will require more pressure to force the glue out. The fact you are having to run the air pressure at maximum shows something isn't right. Has it always been like this? We find that...

    What is killing offset printing?

People 'pimp' cars, planes etc for profit or bragging rights. Nobody would 'pimp' a press unless they had a guaranteed roi on it.

    Landa News?

I was genuinely impressed with the print quality of the Fuji at Drupa. I believe using an established Ryobi press for paper transport was a shrewd move.

    What is killing offset printing?

Offset presses are designed to run at high speeds for many years. In that time cylinders and rollers have to be highly engineered to keep these leviathans in tolerance. You only have to look at the raw materials that go into manufacturing a 10 colour press to see that it is an expensive machine...

why is Oris Color Tuner adding C + M dots to a pure 100% Y?

Yes, you can individually edit any colour breakdown. There is an 'action range' you can adjust which will decide how much it affects similar colours. (helps keep smooth graduations). I forgot to mention you can only use this tool within Oris if you have colour managed using 'Automatic colour...

why is Oris Color Tuner adding C + M dots to a pure 100% Y?

It's simply doing the best it can to emulate the colour it is trying to match. The pure yellow of the Epson in combination with the paper need 'muddying' to match the target. I understand it looks a bit odd. You can edit it out manually though.

Setting up reference printer for ORIS CGS

Why do you set the densities a little less? I used to set the maximum densities higher than would be achieved on press. If you limit the density on the yellow it may try and add other colours (usually cyan).

ORIS Color Tuner and paper simulation...

From what I remember in Oris the dat file was made using the linearisation, the paper/proofer profile and the target profile. The rendering intent would be selected at the point of creating the file. So you wouldn't be able to use same dat file for different paper simulations. If you use Oris...

    Rotaprint R95 user manual

Wow Rowen You're going to test my memory here. Firstly what is the 'jockey' and 'bucket control' You may need to send me pics so I can identify the parts. The sucker tilt was behind the flip open panel to the right of the feed pile lift handle. The green and red buttons were just to turn the...

    Rotaprint R95 user manual

I never printed jobs that really tested it's rolling power. Business cards, letterheads, comp slip and envelopes. The 'challenge' was chasing the register when printing the second colour on dl envelopes. The integrated 'rotafount' dampening worked well though. Later machines with molleton...

    Rotaprint R95 user manual

There isn't much to learn. great old machines (i may have rose tinted spectacles). Basically hit the big button on the handle to start the motor, Take the lever on the top down to the first position to damp the plate, after a few seconds take it down to the second position to put the inkers on...

    TrueFlow 6.01

    1. i'm not a Trueflow user, neither am I trying to promote or sell any products. 2. in your 20 years as production manager I can't believe you used every available workflow at the same time in their latest version. I believe Trueflow 6 is quite an old product now. 3. The original poster did not...

    TrueFlow 6.01

I think that's pretty bad form, to go on another vendors section within the forum and shamelessly promote your product and run others down. I fail to see how you can be a 'frustrated Trueflow user' when your bio says you are the managing director of a Kodak distributor.

    ink/water balance

Going back to the original post, as someone who has trained people with no offset experience on an offset sheetfed press with a closed loop colour control system, I tell people to stop the press for a few seconds, then start it up again. (the plate then dries) If the density goes up they've been...

    the future of offset??

just my tuppence just my tuppence The fact that inkjet is a non contact form of printing that doesn't involve heat or pressure will invariably mean inkjet devices will be cheaper to manufacture than offset or digital devices. This in turn will allow a larger number of companies to manufacture...
