    Buying a Minolta 6500 - what should I ask?

Hi. I have had a lot of experience with both the KMC6500 and DC250, 252, 260. I would for for the KMC6500 over the Xerox for the following reasons:- Registration - much tighter on the KM. DC260 will wonder Media - KMC6500 is rated for offset media as opposed to digital media Colour Consistancy -...

    Xerox 5000 - Top/Bottom orange/red color varies.

Common fault Common fault Sounds like the smile/frown effect which is a common fault on these machines, well most of the Xerox's that use this engine. That ranges between the DC5065 and DC700 and includes DC5000. Can be a range of issues that cause it. They haven't fixed it for a good reason...

    Xerox DC260 print resolution

This is probably one of the best comments I have seen on this site. Every company has its own story about DPI/Quality etc etc, but the real test is using a customers file, on customers media, and the customer being happy that the result they get is salable. ;)

    Feedback wanted on Xerox 700

Yes I do. The 5065 was an AP machine and not sure what it was badged as in the rest of the world. It also got rebadged/relaunched as the DC250, 252 etc in AP. Basically its the Einstein / Tarzan engine that X launched about 4 to 5 years ago and the engine is now seen in the DC5000 etc.

    Feedback wanted on Xerox 700

From my experience?? Ok, I have sold for Xerox for the past 10 years. I have sold everything from DC1250 through to Igen. This includes DC5065, DC250, DC252, DC5000, DC6060, DC8000. I know the Einstein range of engines well, and anyone who has "any" experience within X will recognise immediately...

    Xerox 700 Digital Color Press

Its the Delta E ratings/readings that are interesting. If you have a look at comparisons between the DC700 and Bizhub C6500, Delta E is massively better on the Bizhub. Basically, this is its ability to hold colour over a run i.e colour consistancy.......something X haven't mastered yet haha

Going from offset/web prepress to digital printing

hahahahaha, you are brainwashed arent you. Been there, done that. Believed the dribble that Xerox brainwashes you with. If you want to have a look at a true production device, one that is built to last look at the Oce 6000 black and white series. That gear will leave any xerox for dead. Nuvera...

    Misinformation from KM Sales Rep

Not a good situation. Its so important to have a relationship with the rep and be able to trust them. Some are upfront, honest, and knowledgable, some are not. It is an industry wide issue. I would print it all off, and take it back to them. Demand that you get the 5501

    Xerox 700 Digital Color Press

Yes Xerox is proud of their decurler and go on and on about it. The reason for this is that the DC5065, DC252, DC260 was so shocking with its curl, that they had to nut something out to fix it. With the Bizhub C6500, curl isn't a problem on it either way. If you want colour consistancy, the...

    Feedback wanted on Xerox 700

From my experience, I think the DC700 is nothing more than a regurgitated DC5065, which is common with Xerox these days. I have heard reports of misregister of up to 5mm per side, and shocking Delta E results. Not a good machine to be buying at the moment

    Konica Minolta 6500 - Thoughts

Totally agree, the Imagepress is a good machine, but at what cost?? The Bizhub C6500 has been successfully profiled to the 7000 to a 99.9% match. For my money, I would prefer to have 3 6500's versus the price of the imagepress

Going from offset/web prepress to digital printing

Craig, your comments are classic Xerox dribble. As an ex xeriod, who has sold Igen, I can tell you that the Bizhub C6501 WILL compete with the DC5000, 7000, 8000, 8000AP and by default, the Igen. Given that output from the Igen is worse than the 8000, its pretty rough to be classing the...
