Are there any Agfa VCF users out there? I would like to exchange some user experience.

This sound like the same problems we have with our Agfa VCF plate on web offset (newspaper). We have 2 presses and the problems occure on the new press. Sometimes after 10.000 copies the image wears the same like TF019 discribes. In what way will the ink container temp affect the TAC of the ink?

Thrust me Silver will not be with us for long. In Europe most of the printers are converted to Polymer plates.

Are there people out there with experience on the Agfa N92-vcf? Looking for some info on run length etc.....

Wel the plate factory and HQ are 200km from our plant. So when we have problems people from HQ come to our plant. But they have no solution for our plate problems..... but this is a little off topic......

Indeed Thermal is the way to go. We will make the same switch. We will probably order 2 Generation News Systems.

On Kodak Thermal news Gold i can use the same resolution as i do now. We produce 350.000 plates a year and i haven't had one plate that reached 100.000 copies. In europe a lot of companies switch to Polymer plates. The amount of sq meters is decreasing quickly. We are talking to Kodak at this...

Don't switch to silver, agfa is struggling with the quality of the silver plate at this moment. And i think it won't be long until they cancel the complete silver plate.

We use Arkitex 6 and harlequin RIP, for newspaper this is in my opinion the best solution. We use it since the launch of the Arkitex product and we are very happy about it. User friendly, easy maintenance..etc....

But why the change of replenishment rate? Agfa asked us to change the rate to a higher level because of a plate blinding isseu, hasn't helped us. Only waste of $ like you said.

The Lap-v does not have a preheat. But the lines are visible after developing also.

I can see it in all the plates out of the box. One batch worse than the other.

No we haven't. But if we decide to quit with agfa we will switch to Kodak. That's for sure. Please contact some people who work with Lap-v, that would be great.

Well we had several plate specialists from Agfa, on said it was a worn press....... well one press is 10 years old and the other is 1 year old. Hmmmm strange..... The other said it was our punch bender..... the plates were to long , then he said no it's a blanket problem.... Then we went to a...

We have 2 presses, the problem is on both presses all over the press. We have 2 ctp lines and the plates from both lines are blinding. We did a crosscheck, plates from one imager developed in the other dev machine. Fresh chemistry before a longer run... no change.. Other brand blankets, ink...

We are based in Emmeloord in the Netherlands. All Agfa's technic people have been here, checked the LP82, polaris... but everything is ok. It is a very strange problem, agfa tells us we are the only ones but i know other sites who have (had) the same problems.

Well we are using the Lap-v, Polaris-xtv, LP82 ultra dev machine, l5000b/l5300b chemestry. But the problem sounds the same.

At this moment we are having a lot of problems.... it started about july/august 2008. Blinding etc.....

With Agfa it's always a surprise when you open a new box or batch number. Every box i start with i always have to change the laser intensity. We use Lap-v plates.
