    Xerox 700 color matching difficulties

Richtapia- The Xerox Tech would run different tests then send them someplace for color analysis to look at. They said the prints were withing specs. It really depends on what you select for calibration too when you go to print. Sometimes we have to select a different one than the last time we...

From Xerox 700 (mis-sell) to Xerox 5000AP or Canon 6000VP?

I run 2 Xerox Printers, 700 and 7000. We've had the 7000 for 3 years. It runs great. We had to get something else since the 7000 is a very glossy printer. I spent 4 months trying to get the gloss toned down. Didn't work. We got the 700 in August. Which has less gloss on the pieces. We went round...

PMS Book not matching InDesign PMS builds

Tinpot, Thank you for the PDF. I understand it much better now. It all comes down to what Pantone Library the Designer selects. I need them to use the Color Bridge PC. Now only if I could get them to do that. HA!

PMS Book not matching InDesign PMS builds

I have a client that is using a PMS Solid Coated color 644. When I look at my Color Coated Bridge book and InDesign CS4 the 2 are different. My PMS book is from 2005. Is it possible that Pantone changes percentages of a color but not change the PMS name? Or is Adobe not playing exactly with...

    Xerox 700 color matching difficulties

I had the same problem with our Xerox 700. Since most of our colors are converted to CMYK in InDesign we have to protect the colors in our Creo front end at the printer. That means entering in the builds for each color into Creo. We when protect the color before printing, it's in the colors tab...

I wonder what non standard custom vdp would be? I'll mainly be using it for the address blocks on postcards.

    6 months layed off-Now What?

I guess it all depends on what type of clients you print for as to if the Print Industry is dead. The company I work for does printing for Insurance Companies. And since they offer free stuff to the agents, the agents eat it up. But my husband is in the offset world and he has seen the slow...

I'm looking for a new VDP Program.

Hi All, I'm a Digital Prepress Artists for a small Print/Marketing Company, and I am looking for a new VDP program to use. I am currently using Creo Darwin. It's an ok program. It has taken me over a year to master. On small VDP jobs I just use Data Merge in InDesign. It's much simpler than...
