I work at a print shop and we have a KC 80 printer. Does anybody know if there is a way to add crop marks to files through the rip software or do i have to add them in before the file is ripped? any help would be appreciated. thanks!

haha, this is so coincidental. we are having the same problems with our Ricoh C900. we just got it a couple of months ago...non stop service calls.

hmm, all i would do is open the pdf in acrobat and hit Shift+Cmnd+D and the delete pages dialogue box pops up. just select odd pages within whatever range you designate...easy stuff.

hmm...what i would try to do first is to take the final pdf file that you are going to send to the indigo and manually change the CMYK values in acrobat to the correct percentages using PitStop.

if you need to keep the gradient then i would just open up a swatch book if you have the appropriate one, and find a gold and silver color that matches the darkest parts of your gradients...switch the cmyk values in your gradient tool box to the new pantone colors that you choose...

so i'm using indesign cs4 and i have a color box that's a 15% tint of PMS 343. it looks as it should look in the indesign document but when i export it as a pdf, the color is way off. i have attached a before and after picture...does anyone know why the color is off when i view the pdf? thanks!

i usually just put the dieline on a completely separate plate, that way, it won't show up on your actual artwork.

...just make your die line 100% Magenta...that's what i do

so, being that i'm in prepress, i have quite a few swatch conversion booklets...my quesiton is this... why do different books have different CMYK conversion values... for example, i have 2 pantone solid to process coated guides. 314C converts to C100 M0 Y9 K30 on one book and C100 M4 Y14 K18...
