Does anyone have any experience with the HP ink mixing station?? Just wondering if that would be beneficial, so I could make up only what I need for each job. Or is that even an option? I prefer to stay digital if possible, it's hard to find a good quality pressman now a days.

So in some instances it may be cheaper to build the color than to put in a spot?? What happens printing a light spot after printing a dark spot.

So there is a fare amount of work involved in changing colors?? I was told by the HP Rep that the model we are looking at, 5000, that the changeover is quick and easy. Is he being a salesman and sugarcoating or is there a difference in the presses?

All four sides. Its like the whole image was slanted down to the right.

I actually have both instances. A job I ran this morning though was off about .6mm top and bottom skewing. So once I back it up its actually 1.2mm off. Have you seen a solve for this?

No, we have the big trays on the end. Trays 4 & 5. We always use tray 5 for our heavy stock since its a straight path.

So far they haven't been able to fix it. Sometimes they can get closer but not good enough for me.

There actually isn't a skew adjustment on the 6500. You can adjust magnification and x&y axis's.

Were currently looking at the 7000VP from Canon and 7002/8002 series from Xerox. We were very impressed with the IGen just not the pricing.

Most jobs I have do have about the same amount of skew from one sheet to the next. There is some slight movement throughout the job but my problem is printed art is crooked on the sheet. So when I flip the paper over to back it up its that much more out of whack for the second pass. (100#CVR)

Looks similar to what we run. If your looking for a company to grow with Xerox is def it. If your looking to get out as cheap as possible and still get by the KM will work fine but the Xerox will undoubtably be the company to grow with if your looking to expand your printing later. Were looking...

External rip is the only way to go as far as I can tell. We are running Creo's on both our 6500's. They are great rips, you will never go back to Fiery after using them. They are great for VDP (variable) jobs and color managment. I would get the double decker paper trays. Once you have them you...
