How many impressions can you get before you need to wash the blankets? Dull varnish is notorious for leaving build up on the blanket.Try reducing the varnish and see how you make out.

sounds to me like you have a build up of powder and grease on your rails or delivery pan,you need to do a though job of cleaning the delivery part of your press.Do you have a extended delivery?

Have your ink supplier make you a coatable PMS colors,if they are your main vender they should be more than happy to do that.If you don't have coating capabilities I would have the supplier make you a stronger PMS color,or if you have an open unit use a tint and a solid,run your waters lower and...

It's very hard to do a spot coat on a coater blanket while it's off the cylinder(actually that part is easy,it's when you remount the blanket,that's where the trouble begins).You can do ok with glue flaps,large areas but if you want to get really fancy(knockouts ect) you have to cut the blanket...

Jay is correct,make sure you start with the metering roller and work torward the plate,also when you set your water form roller to the plate make sure you put your form rollers on.

The tanks are Royse,the water flow is at a minimum,we clean the meters often,I've not tried to gum the meters yet,only the chromes,I've had the black and yellow in differant units and it's still the same(building up on the metering rollers)
