    AQ Issue

Gordo, thanks for your reply, I understand your answer and gave this answer to the pressman having the problem. The problem is he (pressman) did not grow up in printing. He has been involved for 20 yrs., more or less and whatever he learned was on his own. He does however figure things out for...

    Just Venting

Prepresscolor, thanks for the input, meetings are out, shop way too small plus not enough time. I'm just going to log everything in on the mistakes we make and how I think we could remedy them. Maybe if the owner sees how many mistakes maybe then he'll listen. Please keep in mind the owner knows...

    Just Venting

Got 40 years in the trade and the owner refuses to consult me about printing jobs. I let him fail against my better judgement and yet he still don't learn. Its really hard to do everything the hard way, it still gets done but it could be done faster and get more jobs out.

    4/c process color bars

Lucas, I appreciate your advice, however we as a small shop struggling to survive don't have all the tools we need. Our desitometer does not measure dot gain. Everything is visual. We are in need of tools but cannot afford. The steps we take have to be slow and sure and cost affective for the...

    4/c process color bars

turbotom, we have an older ebson proofer that doesn't print with a dot. proofs seem to be o.k. or within reason. we included a scale on the plate but outside the image so not to be in the way of the work. i'm reproducing the same size dot the plate is giving me, however the 35% screen looks like...

    4/c process color bars

Jackie, Nothing was calibrated, bought used ctp system. It was ink solids I'm talking about. Right now the computer operater and I are trying different curves so I'll be able to run more ink on the press sheet. Running low ink everything looks flat. We're accomplishing alittle with the curves...
