Canon v900 - Anyone with experience

We had a lot of growing pains with our C10000 when it was new and almost gave up as well. Are you with Canon direct, or is it a third party? There should be a specialist that they can escalate your issues to. I don't think the v900 would be bad, but the v1000 and the v1350 are a lot more robust...

Looking for 20mil PVC sheets supplier/manufacturer (for membership cards) for Dry Toner Printers (Ideally Ricoh Pro C7500)

MGX makes a 20mil, but it's not compatible with your model. 20 mil is incredibly thick, only the Indigo is actually rated for that thickness according to their spec sheet. I think you'd probably want to outsource something like that, or settle for 15mil.

DUPLO 618 ISSUE: Cutting 2 up 9x12 on 13x19 paper not straight cut

Any reason you're not guillotine cutting 2up cards? It seems like it'd be significantly faster. I totally get using the Duplo for something 12+up, but not a simple 2-up layout.

    Canon Varioprint 115-140

I've run a fair amount of Oce/Canon equipment. They are super reliable, and fairly low maintenance. They also rarely jam, and if they do they're very easy to clear jams. They use a technology called directpress, so it's basically opening the pores of the paper and pressing the toner in. It...

    Job Security

I hate doing things twice, but I also really hate when a job has gone through 30 rounds of proofs and they somehow missed the typo every single time. Part of me wants to run it and make them pay full price for the re-do. This is why I'm in production though, and not running the business.

Scanning and copying simultaneously in an office MFP

I don't know for sure, but I don't think you'd want this feature. If you get a misfeed, or forgot to remove a paperclip/staple it's gonna start copying bad scans.

NXT/mach6/colormax8 machines cost to run/per piece price?

Personally, I absolutely hate running envelopes on toner. It looks better, but they tend to feed terribly and there's a ton of limitations. We've been using the NXT for about 2 years now and it's pretty much problem free. I sometimes have to wipe the printhead, but aside from that I don't agree...

    Best PDF for digital printing

https://gwg.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/PRISMAsync-Print-Server-Set-up-the-print-server-for-PDFX-4-compliance-20....pdf There's a few settings you have to change when you log into the printer through the ip address. It should get you sorted out.

Is the Xerox Versant 180 good enough?

98% sure it's just an AI chatbot. I reported it. You get a longer winded, but nearly identical answer by asking AI "is the xerox 180 good enough?"

    Toner Plan Printers

Years ago Canon used our shop to do an open house, so they installed a Colorwave and let us use it for free for about a month. The prints were nice and crisp, and it printed insanely fast. It's super low melt toner, so you can't hot laminate (or couldn't at the time), and it doesn't work on all...

Issues finishing Ricoh 8310 B/W printers

Have you looked into getting an actual stacker on the machines? It doesn't take much for that to happen since the sheets are basically just falling onto the finisher tray. A stacker actually jogs the sheets properly, plus it holds way more output.

    Inkjet and jetouts. Sanity/reality check?

Based on my knowledge of that machine, it's not really designed for high quality work. It's made to run generic color for statements and mailings really fast. I think you'd want to to be running the iX, or a web press for higher end work.

usps error... mailed to return address

Why would you get the returns if it was stamped? Is your address the return address? We've had something similar happen, and it was just a post office mistake, but I still don't understand why you received the returns if nothing about the piece points to you.

Mailing software: Alternative to the Big Blue Company?

We use Lorton Data's A-Qua mailer. I've only used it a few times just for cross training, but my co-worker seems to like it, and the support has always been quick and responsive if he has issues.

    Fujipla ALM 3220 driver?

That's not a driver, it's a software update. It sounds like support has to flash it manually, so it's not a user update. Maybe another vendor that sells it can provide support, like Martin Yale?

Image quality - Canon Imagepress V700

Uncoated stocks don't look super great on Canon, especially cheap papers. that said, you should be able to adjust voltage settings to get a smoother print. Did you go with Fiery, or PrismaSYNC?

Turnaround - Rush - Share your best most rediculous horror stories!

The biggest gripe I have is that it's entirely their fault for not planning, but it's somehow our fault if we don't make their impossible deadlines. I honestly don't have much sympathy for them. We have some pretty regular clients and it's always amazing when a marketing employee moves on and...

    Uchida aerocut X pro

A company loaned us an Aerocut as a demo a few years back and I was unimpressed with the feeding and consistency. We also have a lot of winery clients that are pickier, and I didn't like that the edges of cards weren't very clean cuts. There's definitely a reason the Duplos cost more. Also...
