Is it possible to print the FedEx labels to PDF in addition to actually printing the labels? If so you could print a second copy on plain paper for the driver to scan from and place the actual labels on the boxes.

I think I have an old laptop around complete with serial port but I'd have to dig around to be sure. I believe it has a damaged OS though - do you have a license number and install media for 98 or 2000?

I've seen something similar happen before when transferring Mac fonts to Windows servers and vice versa. Best I remember (it's been awhile) it has to do with Mac OS not using file extensions so Windows doesn't recognize the files.
