I am not ruling out a specific problem with something on my machine BUT...
I have relied on the Convert Colors (Advanced -> Print Production) function for a couple years in Acrobat 8 and now 9. Concurrent to the update to Acrobat Pro 9.1.1, I have lost the ability to convert colors using any method under this dialog.
It will appear to convert the colors visually, but saving or making any other mouse clicks in the document will cause it to revert back to the original colorspace(s). I actually see the colors return onscreen... more dramatic when you think you've converted to grayscale and the RGB colors pop back up.
I am running Mac OS X 10.5.7. I have followed Adobe's troubleshooting regime, all the way through completely uninstalling Acrobat and reinstalling. I have trashed all CS4 Application Support files (not just the Acrobat ones)in my user account, cache file, the ByHost folder, and preferences.
I'm really hosed until I fix this since so many of our work files are *$#%!%! RGB Office docs converted to PDF and destined to press.
