Cheap 5000k Viewing Area

I recently installed qty25 4ft fluorescent bulbs over my color printing area. I used Phillips F32T8/TL950, a 5000k bulb with a CRI of 98. I went into this knowing that this wouldn't meet ISO 3664 but it would give me an inexpensive option for getting a more accurate viewing area.

The lights are in our drop ceiling and are about 6ft above our viewing area. Illuminance is about 800 lux from that distance. At 2ft away the Illuminance is 2000 lux.

So for people in shops not ready in invest several thousands into a light booth you may want to look into these bulbs at $8/per.

You can build a viewing booth with 4 or 5 sheets of plywood and a gallon of paint and a couple of 4' light fixtures . . . total outlay 3 or 4 hours of work and maybe $300 bucks . .. . just my 2 cents:)
