Currently on a press-check from hell!

I'm emailing from the business center of the hotel I am staying at. It is here, that I have spent most of my last 3 days. I am on a press-check for a 256 page fully illustrated book (web-press), and while the color had been going fairly smooth, the mechanical issues have been never-ending: bad rollers, electrical issues, folding jams - you name it! We were running 24/7 but lost about 18 hours between last night and today.

I certainly don't blame the press operators, these are situations out of their control.

Just venting, and extremely bored.

UGH! I remember doing a press check at 2AM (was staying at the plants in house apartment). Walked out to the console and they were printing on the wrong paper..oops! that killed a half day while they got in the right paper.

Yup, I guess we all have our horror stories.

Gregg, this is why we used to get the person on the presscheck bombed before the check...of course this was in the 80's
