is there anyone out there that has done a cost analysis on offset digital printing vs. regular digital printing? (DC6060). I have done it a thousand times and at my cost i dont see much diffrence?

Offset Business Card 1000 $15.00 (we get 24 card on a sheets)
plates $50
throws $40
UV $25
Paper $56
Total $170/24 =$7.00
Profit $8.00 but you have to wait 8 or more days to get your job

Digital Business Card 1000 DC6060 $20.00
Paper $2.50
Impression 3.52
Total 6.02
Profit $13.98

can someone let me know if I am missing something? thanks, kristian.

Nope, sounds right, just need to ad something for the box and trimming, that's why we run almost all of our cards on the 8000AP.
It makes me cringe when I see the ads for these gang printers, 1000 cards for $9.00, are they really making any money at it?

Craig,

Thanks for you input on this situation. So given that the variable will not move on offset and digital printing (excluding paper) in most aspects of 1000-3000 impression. It seems to me that digital printing would come out with the same profit margin and quicker of a turn around time? Also to take in consideration, the purchase price of the offset press? Thank, Kristian.
