Double image and front edge damage SM52

Hi all, i'm getting a bit of a problem on a 5 col SM52. All in all the press runs pretty well except for an occasional double image on the black/1st unit when running thinner stocks and damage to the front edge on most stock weights.

I have tried moving the front lays but it does not make much difference, i'm putting it down to dirty/poor grippers on either the back cylinder or impression cylinder. How does everybody clen the impression cylinder grippers as they are a pain to get at?

Greetings,

If thicker substrate produces better results, probably gripper bars. (Sheet slipping out of bars or gripper tip is getting in the way.)

Is the image still doubled when only running this unit by itself with no other blanket impressions from other units on?

If it runs clean by itself then the problem is possibly coming from a gripper bar down stream. (Between 1 and 2)

They all can be checked idling/crawling a sheet through and looking at how it is setting up in the bars. (Watch sheet at transfer points)

If sheet is damaged but printing is OK, issue at the in-feed or up on the table. (Timing or worn parts/head stops)

Just some thoughts...
