Firefox and InSite

Firefox recently had an update. Now when I select files to Upload to InSite, my upload button doesn't work. Safari does work, but usually I prefer using Firefox.

I've changed Java and Safari to run in 32-bit mode.

Updated Flash Player plugin this morning to 10.1.r85.

Firefox 3.6.12
Mac Intel Core 2 Duo
OS 10.5.3
InSite 5.5.3

Hi Inivin

It's a known bug with Insite that showed up with the recent 3.6.11 upgrade. It only affects Mac OS 10.5, Mac 10.6 users running the latest Java updates are OK.

No word on when it will be fixed, but It's been a real problem for us since Firefox is set to automatically update for most users.

So far the only solution is to roll back to Firefox 3.6.10. Here's the direct download link, in case you or your clients need it.
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.10/mac/en-US/Firefox 3.6.10.dmg

Once you download 3.6.10 make sure to turn off automatic updating in Firefox preferences, otherwise it will happily download and re-install 3.6.12 for you.

Firefox 3.6.12
Mac Intel Core 2 Duo
OS 10.5.3
InSite 5.5.3

This is what I got from Kodak:

1. Product Name and version - InSite 5.5.3, InSite 6.0.x, InSite 6.1.x (beta) InSite Creative Workflow 4.X

2. Problem - Updating Firefox for Mac to 3.6.11 causes uploads to stop working. PC's are not affected.

OS 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 - Uploads do not work.

3. Symptoms - you are able to click the upload button – it shows but nothing happens

4. Solutions:

If you are using Mac OS 10.6.4 do one of the following:

* Update the Java for Mac OS to update 3 and the problem appears fixed
* Remove FF 3.6.11 and downgrade back to 3.6.10. An older version of FF is available from: ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/
* Use Safari

With regards to 10.5.8 the only solution right now is to down grade the FireFox version

The latest version of Firefox, 3.6.12, works on Insite 6.0.2 with the latest version of Java and Flash on both OS 10.5.8 and OS 10.6.4 but not on OS 10.4.11. For me at least.

Apple released OS 10.6.5 today. I installed it on my Mac and uploads for Firefox 3.6.12 and Safari 5.02 (32-bit) still works. Safari 5.02 (64-bit) still does not work.
