Getting Ink to dry on uncoated cover

I run a GTO with an all color damp. I am having troubles getting dark blue inks mainly 2757 and 301 to dry running on either Linen cover or Lynx cover. I tried using 3 way drier with little success. Would a dryer like hydro cure or grapho work better? I am printing pretty heavy coverage and the ink is Van Son Vivid. I notice I really have to push the ink for the 301 in order to match the book. I am running the water to the point of toning in the background then backing it off. The main problem is these jobs are due the next day and it seems to take at least three or four days for them to become dry enough to cut. In some cases they never seem to dry.

Offline varnish might burn the ink. Both inks are non coatable. Is speedy dry and ink additive or a water additive?

Speedy dry is an ink additive. SpeedyDry Be sure to follow the directions. Too much is dangerous. Offline varnish should not burn out the ink pigments. You should have your ink manufacturer make all your match colors coatable to eliminate that problem.

Not cheap stuff. If my math is good that is $2.5/oz. Per pound the dryer charge would be $6.5 which would double the cost of the ink. Also mixing that to an ink that is already hard to hit density. Seems to me that would be like mixing 15 percent of transparent white to the ink. I will bring this up to the owners. See if they want to pay to give it a try

A little expensive, but consider your 3 to 4 days of drying time or missing due dates, its a drop in the bucket. Well worth it. It put this stuff in my inks that I run on matte rigid vinyl and I am cutting and delivering the job the next day. Give it a try. Let me know how you make out.

RGPW1700,
These are both problematic colors in my experience. The first thing you need to do is to dry a sheet to establish proper density. Use a hair drier, microwave ,run it through the shrink wrapper, whatever (I use a thermo stripper). Both these colors shift dramatically when drying.
I would us a drying stimulator via the water system, keep your lifts small and rewind them as soon as possible.
Hope this helps.

We have been using BestChem&Supply inks and chemistry and have no problems drying on any substrate.
We have not used our Ir drier since going to their complete system. The Best Chem products are the most consistant batch to bacth products I have ever used in 40 years. No guess work as to what will happen on the next run it always works the same

Have your ink supplier make you a coatable PMS colors,if they are your main vender they should be more than happy to do that.If you don't have coating capabilities I would have the supplier make you a stronger PMS color,or if you have an open unit use a tint and a solid, run your waters lower and you should fine.
