Head Strike on Canvas

Aloha All,

I'm experiencing a LOT of headstrike issues with Epson GS Gloss canvas. I'm printing on an Epson GS6000. The head strikes usually happen near the center of the canvas at regular intervals. I'm using the take-up reel, the edge of the canvas is NOT touching the edge of the rollers and the canvas IS loaded in straight, the platen gap is set to HIGH and the platen is clean. Does anybody else have this issue? This is VERY frustrating Please HELP!

not sure if you have resolved your issue but it sounds like your doing everything manually possible. When I have continued issue I reload the media and smooth from the center of the media out with my hands, pull it forward holding the outside edges to keep it taught ( do not pull it forward from the center) then put the foot pressure down. This sometimes is all it takes. Another idea might be your heat settings. reducing the pre-platen and platen heater can be all that's making that media flex. check with your manufacturer to get appropriate heat settings for that media.
