I am looking for thoughts on ir dryer settings. I was told we should never run the ir dryer at 100%. my thought is that we should run it at a settings that makes the stack of paper reach 120 deg. is there a recommended starting point. I have heard horror storys about people warping delivery bars and grippers with too much heat. I understand it should be higher if your running 15,000 an hour, but at 6000iph I would think 20% would be sufficient.

Are you coating. 120 F? That is way too hot. If you are coating I would go 95 on first side and 90 on back side. If you go 120 and you back up aqueous you will reopen the first side aqueous and wet on wet aqueous will make bricks real fast.

i never exceed 100degrees f. regardless of coating or not. back ups that have been coated as rgpw said should be lowered to 90 farenheit so as not to rewet coating on first pass
