Komori Lithrone 28 Question...

Excuse my ignorance but I'm not a pressman and not sure of the terminology. We have a problem with the black unit whereas it runs really heavy. It was explained to me by the pressman (before he quit) that there are 3 things in the unit and that when the first one starts to fail, then the other 2 will follow and it's expensive. Does anyone know what he was referring to so that I can pass that information along? Thank you.

Check grippers, cam followers, Impression pistons, and roller pistons.
Also inspect oil for metal contamination.

These can be reasonable if addressed earlier, and expensive if left unresolved.

Thanks for the responses. I wish I had more information other than the ink keys are virtually at none and yet it's still going heavy on ink. We've had to sheet some units to try to get some ink off. Water in the black unit is running at almost if not, 100%. My experience in the last 2 weeks is there's many issues with this press along with what happened in the new post regarding the feeder.....

If I remember correctly, he did mention pistons but is there three of either?

If the ink keys are closed at the console (set to 0) and the rollers are still receiving ink, the zero sets need to be readjusted.

Another way to reduce ink on a unit where the keys won’t close all the way is to use the intermittent ductor setting on the console. It’s on the right side above the main button cluster membrane…. there’s a green on/off button for each unit with a number clicker ranging from 0-9.
