Looking for software to perform DeviceLink Profile conversions

I am looking for a software solution to convert gracol PDF files to swopv2 PDF files using DeviceLink Profiles.

I know that some people will say let the printer do this, but we have already confirmed that a majority of our print vendors who are swop do not and will not convert the files for us. They just run the files "as is" and adjust on press which has not produced consistent or desirable outcomes.

I would like to be able to give them files as close to what they need as possible so as to minimize the difference in appearance between jobs printed in swopv2 and those printer in g7.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Two programs off hand. Enfocus PitStop can apply a device link. As can callas pdfToolbox. The second part is the device link. Do you have the link already or do you need one made? Do you want a basic device link or do you want GCR/ink savings?

I can bundle a device link and either callas or PitStop together for you.

We need to be able to create devicelink profiles for different color spaces and/or print vendor specs and be able to apply them.

Okay, so you need device link creation software. The next question is do you need to create a basic link or one that enables you to customize all the parameters and change the amount of GCR. Depending on your level of comfort or experience you may want to go with a basic device link. If you want to get more technical and customize settings then you would want to get a device link package that is a bit more sophisticated. We probably should talk to get a better feel for what fits your needs and budget.

I would err on the side of sophisticated. If it's too basic it wont grow with out needs or wont be able create profiles that are specific enough. We do create a lot of B&W imagery that has to run as four color along side full color images. GCR tweakability would be a plus.

I can recommend CMYK Optimizer. It builds the device links on the fly and has plenty of control. I found it to be relatively inexpensive when compared to other solutions, including attempting to build my own device links and apply them.

They will grant you a temporary license for testing purposes.
