MWV currently has an opening for a Marketing Manager that would be based in the Richmond, Virginia, within the Commercial Print Strategic Business Unit (CP-SBU), reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing. As a Business Unit, Commercial Print operates with its own management team, customer service group and sales force. Through the strength of its Tango Advantage product line, focused strategy, and energetic team, MWV’s Commercial Print business has grown rapidly to become the second largest provider of high quality coated cover/bristol printing grades in North America.
The ideal MWV Marketing Manager candidate thrives in a fast paced environment where he/she will not only develop an effective marketing strategy, but also implement it as well. If you have a proven track record for doing this, this position may be for you.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT MWV
As Marketing Manager for MWV’s CP-SBU, you will be responsible for conducting effective analysis on specific market segments targeted for profitable growth, developing comprehensive market plans, and working across functional areas in a matrix environment to effectively execute the developed market plan. Performance of this position is measured by the financial, volume, and market share performance of the assigned individual initiatives, as well as the financial results of the overall business unit.
Detailed accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
• Coordinate customer insight research, competitive analysis, market trend analysis to identify opportunities where MWV can expand and grow its business
• Support development of overall Strategic Business Plan with additional responsibility for plans associated with your assigned initiatives
• Manage development of new products and/or product enhancements, develop product specifications, monitor quality and performance
• Develop strategic pricing recommendations; monitor price performance
• Determine appropriate service platform required to achieve objectives
• Identify promotional/advertising requirements and coordinate their development
• Develop compelling technical value selling tools which clearly demonstrate a quantified value proposition for MWV products and/or services
• Conduct internal/external training programs to strengthen understanding and proper delivery of value propositions developed
• Drive business development for targeted initiatives either through direct contact with MWV customers or by accompanying MWV sales team
• Meet or exceed defined performance metrics
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
• Thorough technical knowledge/experience with offset commercial printing required; knowledge of digital printing technology is preferred
• Bachelor degree with work experience in technical industrial sales/marketing is required; an MBA is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years experience in senior sales/marketing position(s) dealing at executive level with customers
• Proven track record that clearly demonstrates consistent achievement of results that exceed expectations
• Evidence of strong business development/selling skills – experience of direct involvement in executing business strategy in the field through customer contact
• Highly goal oriented and strong competitive spirit; maintains consistent positive attitude and self-drive
• Outstanding analytical and project management skills - ability to manage multiple project simultaneously in a matrix organization
