Measurement of matte/gloss laminated patches

Hi,

Is it possible to accurately measure full tone patches that are matte/gloss thermal laminated? I would like to get relevant CIE Lab values after measurement, but I'm not sure how the devices such as (SpectroDens - TECHKON) measure laminated colours (inks) in terms of physics, refractive index, optics. Any help would be appreciated.

Id be willing to bet that you could get a pretty good idea of the film thickness by talking to your anilox roller supplier about how thick a layer any given cell structure lays down.
