I dont have an issue with QC as of now but I need to come up with a quick outline of a QC program that works that I can implement in order to get a new customer I am working on. I dont want to do the ISO or anything. Does anyone have a current QC I could use? My mail focus in on prepress. the client has a lot of changes and they want to ensure the files wont get messed up.

Thanks!

Hi
2 things come to mind instantly. I am a prepress and graphics leadperson and we have a checklist for QC in both departments. 2 persons much check off on all PDFs, all Epson 1up Proofs and all Imposition proofs.

secondly do you save the customers files in a separate folder and "save as" before making any changes to the original?

Am I on the right track?

Yes, this is the path I am looking for. We do save the custoemr file before we alt anthing. This is exactly the start I am looking for. Thanks

Depending on what sort of system you are using....(although what I am about to say may be obvious, I apologize, but a problem like this came up at our plant)

Be very cautious about systems that auto apply a colour management scheme. Take Adobe for example - it will sometimes pop up the question "Use Colour Management". If you check it off as a "NO", it still applies a basic internal colour managment system. Be alert that your customer also isn't having anything along that line happening to them. If they are using some sort of CM, confirm with them that you will stick to the same line.
