Oce TDS300 Problems

Having problems printing to a Oce TDS300. Problem is say I send a 46 page pdf to the printer I may get 20-30 pages of it and it crashes the PCL (computer connecting the scanner and printer).

My PDF's contain line drawings created from AutoCAD. I have tried printing from Foxit, Brava, and Acrobat Reader with all the same results. Has anyone run into this or have an idea of what I could try to do?

Our local repair guys says we need to buy the postscript software for the machine and will not even touch it. We have not always had this problem I know in the past I have been able to print 100+ page documents with no issues. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You could print in groups of 10 pages or so, ie 1-10 11-20 etc.

maybe its one page jamming the works.

Also I have seen , resaving under another name ( no special character like _ / etc ) in the name.

Resave under a different version of acrobat. it may well be your rip but I would think its file related, there are numerous option during saving.

Yeah grouping in pages works but that's just the point why/what is causing it problems? Its not ideal to print them in sets.

How much difference would the postscript make?

It seems like the printer is reaching a maximum memory or something and then at that point it just locks up. Requiring a reboot at that point then everything that was queued is dumped.

So I definitely have found that setmemory is full. Does anyone know if having the postscript installed will make file sizes smaller?

Does anyone know if the setmemory can be increased?
